The Good in Goodbye

Staring far into the horizon I stood
Watching the sun retire for the day,
Adieu! The word hath always been heartrending,
Truly! A farewell isn’t painful unless
You are never going to say hello again!

What is so Good about GoodBye I wonder?
Every death like farewell and birth like reunion I ponder
But the day has to go for the night to come
How else will you applaud the creator
For the marvel of the moon,  the stars and the planets so clear?

Mother says Death and Birth are the same,
For they are just experiences like any other,
She simply laid for us, the truth so profound
Treat every moment with love and respect,
Be Optimistic Child for you never know
Grace of Lord shines when we least expect.

I may have stood there all night
Ah ! Here is that first  streak of sunlight
Good morning says the sun beaming,
I knew you would come, old friend,
For  I’d seen you lingering at the horizon
To soothe and comfort my moaning heart.
Often the best things are said at the end
Lot of time chatting nothing people spend
Then linger at the door for that special moment
To say something that rushes from the heart.

Mother this child also awaits your grace,
The never ending night has taken me into its embrace
Exhausted to the core, but not  Doomed,
To bring me a beautiful day full of aspirations
Life! I know it’s a battle between you and me
If defeated, I would die a brave soldier,
For I want to hear you acknowledge that
Gods child I am , You have met your match !!!

  1. goodbye is actually a conjuction of “god be with ye” (or you) which i guess is also appropriate for the divine nature of your poem 🙂

  2. Treat every moment with love and respect…
Mother, this child also awaits your grace… Exhausted to the core, but not Doomed…
thank you for these wonderful lines,
    A prayer from a child’s heart! 🙂
