Into Amma’s Heart

I went far into the depths of Amma’s heart,
Beyond all knowledge, beyond all sight.
I heard Her secret voice singing of love’s dawn,
For the mother of exalted bliss had brought me close.
I love you, my dear one.

I cried for Her in the lonely pain of parting,
When far away from Her heart, I suffered without rest.
When can you dry my tears, when shall you bring me
To the land where my soul may dwell within you?
I love you, my kind one.

I am held inside Her blessed, sacred hands,
The warmth of Her tender arms envelops me.
I have felt the fluttering wings of Her grace
Stirring amrita inside my heart.
I love you, my sweet one.

I saw Her behind the throng of maya’s form,
She is that by which the eye sees and the mind knows.
Bring me to the shining city of Brahman,
And merge my soul in joy forever.
I love you, my motherly one.
