{"id":137,"date":"2007-11-10T02:38:31","date_gmt":"2007-11-09T21:08:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/137\/happy-diwali\/"},"modified":"2015-01-16T10:13:55","modified_gmt":"2015-01-16T04:43:55","slug":"happy-diwali","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/2007\/137\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Diwali"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.amritapuri.org\/images\/celebrations\/diwali2007\/07deepavali.jpg\" title=\"Deepavali at Amritapuri\" alt=\"Deepavali at Amritapuri\" align=\"right\" border=\"1\" height=\"225\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" width=\"225\" \/>9 Nov 2007, Amritapuri<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday afternoon, it was Ice Cream and Devi Bhava.\u00a0 Last night, it was sweets with dinner, followed by fireworks.\u00a0 Deepavali was being celebrated in full regal in Amritapuri.<\/p>\n<p>Right after dinner, all gathered in front of the Temple and began lighting sparklers, crackers, and bottle rockets.\u00a0 People were watching from the balconies of every floor of the flats.\u00a0 Cheers echoed each time a cracker exploded, or a bottle rocket successfully shot up in the air and burst into bright colors.\u00a0\u00a0 All the while, Mother Nature had been having her own Deepavali celebration.\u00a0\u00a0 As soon as the sun had set, the eastern sky lit up with flashes of lightning from a distant storm.\u00a0 The flashes continued all through bhajans and right up until when the students began lighting fireworks.\u00a0\u00a0 Then, after about 15 minutes of fun a tremendous downpour began.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone cheered again, and ran for cover.<br \/>\nHappy Deepavali to all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Hari<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>9 Nov 2007, Amritapuri Yesterday afternoon, it was Ice Cream and Devi Bhava.\u00a0 Last night, it was sweets with dinner, followed by fireworks.\u00a0 Deepavali was being celebrated in full regal in Amritapuri.
