{"id":4488,"date":"2011-11-11T15:22:34","date_gmt":"2011-11-11T09:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/?p=4488"},"modified":"2011-11-11T15:27:10","modified_gmt":"2011-11-11T09:57:10","slug":"swimming-with-ma-om","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/2011\/4488\/","title":{"rendered":"Swimming with Ma-Om"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had this insight when swimming.<br \/>\nThe mantra I use is Ma Om.<\/p>\n<p>Under water I use Om.<br \/>\nIt is the internal.<br \/>\nThe effort you make in the stroke is up to you,<br \/>\nno one can see, no one can do it for you.<br \/>\nThis is the relationship with the Self.<\/p>\n<p>When I come up for air, that is Ma.<br \/>\nShe is always there, like the breath.<br \/>\nAs the breath, we need Her to keep going.<br \/>\nIt always seems quick, coming up for air, it is so fleeting,<br \/>\njust enough time with Her so we don&#8217;t drown.<\/p>\n<p>This is my swimming practice:<br \/>\nEffort, grace, effort, grace&#8230;<br \/>\nOm&#8230; Ma&#8230; Om&#8230; Ma&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I can give unending effort,<br \/>\nbecause i know She is there when i come up for air.<\/p>\n<p>She powers my effort,<br \/>\nI cannot swim, or do much of anything without Her&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Ma&#8230; Om&#8230;<br \/>\n<em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8212; by Daya (USA)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had this insight when swimming.
