{"id":5066,"date":"2012-10-22T01:20:02","date_gmt":"2012-10-21T19:50:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/?p=5066"},"modified":"2012-10-22T01:20:02","modified_gmt":"2012-10-21T19:50:02","slug":"comings-and-goings-in-munich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/2012\/5066\/","title":{"rendered":"Comings and Goings in Munich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the joys of the Europe tour is the glimpses of the unique and beautiful culture of each country.\u00a0 Each country has its unique way of welcoming Amma.\u00a0 Munich is always one of the most stunning.\u00a0 In Munich, Amma stays in a room on the second story of the venue and comes and goes along a catwalk, clearly visible to everyone in the hall.\u00a0 \u00a0Or rather, she glides like a swan over the heads of the mesmerized devotees<\/p>\n<p>Each entrance and exit was eagerly awaited, as this was such a unique opportunity to clearly see Amma, unobstructed by cameramen and security.\u00a0 Each exit and entrance was different.\u00a0 When she enters for a program, Amma generally walks purposefully, looking ahead to where the devotees are waiting to do the pada puja to welcome her in the traditional Indian way.<\/p>\n<p>However, the first night, as she floated along the catwalk, she could see and hear the spectacular welcome the devotees had prepared.\u00a0 Traditionally costumed devotees held an arch of greenery and flowers for Amma to walk under, with Danke Amma (Thank you Amma) emblazoned on the top.\u00a0 This was in honor of the 25 years Amma has been visiting Munich.\u00a0\u00a0 As Amma approached, they sang a lovely song playing traditional German instruments.<\/p>\n<p>Behind them the backdrop with the colours of the rainbow glowed softly.
