Lyrics are penned and new melodies are composed for the upcoming tours.\u00a0 For many, they will become the defining sounds of 2008.<\/p>\n<p>The two evenings before the South Indian Tour, after dinner, Amma headed to the stage in the main hall to practice and record the new bhajans. Over a dozen are there. Only the musicians and composers were permitted inside on the stage.\u00a0 The first night, Amma stayed past 3am.\u00a0 A few people sat outside, their ears pressed against the door hoping to hear a few notes, a few beats, a few lines.\u00a0 What would be the new &#8216;hit&#8217; of 2008?\u00a0 What new bhajans would stir the souls of every devotee around the world?<\/p>\n<p>A few have come to life here in Coimbatore.\u00a0 The first batch of new Tamil bhajans.\u00a0 Four so far&#8230; Their melodies still fresh, their names unknown.
