Amma arrived fairly early for bhajans tonight and sang a fairly long and somewhat surprising set of bhajans. She looked very fresh and happy as She walked onto the stage. I like watching Amma arrive for bhajans because for once there are very few people surrounding Her. She can move freely without being surrounded from every side. I remember how many years ago Amma could move freely like that all over the ashram. But of course things naturally change over time and everything is under Amma\u2019s control. Amma\u2019s pull is just irresistible.<\/p>\n
There were some classics and new songs in the set tonight. Amma doesn\u2019t sing Jagadishwari Janamanaharini that often anymore. I really like Aldbhuta Charitre and it always makes me happy when Amma sings it. As Amma said the name of the song She glanced at me smiling lightly and of course in my imagination I took it that Amma is aware of my liking the song. In reality She probably smiled at how silly I look sitting there trying to read Her lips for the name of the song. It is a strange seva I confess, announcing the bhajans that is. But Amma herself came up with the idea so that Her western children could enjoy the bhajans more by not having to look for the right song for most of the duration of the song. Singing along with Amma is such a joyful experience. <\/p>\n
