Her camper came in the north entrance of the Ashram and slowly made its way through the throngs of residents and visitors who had gathered.<\/p>\n<p>About 200 people were waiting the base of her home.  Amma exited the camper and walked towards the staircase, stopping along the way to chat briefly with a few of the brahamacharinis.  About midway up the stairs, Amma turned towards the crowd.  &#8220;Did you eat?&#8221; Amma asked.   The crowd chimed back the same question to her, which elicited a nice laugh.<\/p>\n<p>For a number of the westerners who had gathered there, it was their first time seeing Amma.
