{"id":93,"date":"2007-09-30T23:44:14","date_gmt":"2007-09-30T18:14:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/93\/rain-rain-went-away\/"},"modified":"2007-09-30T23:44:14","modified_gmt":"2007-09-30T18:14:14","slug":"rain-rain-went-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e.amritapuri.org\/blogs\/2007\/93\/","title":{"rendered":"Rain Rain Went Away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Rain Rain Went Away<br \/>\nand Came Again Another Day&#8230;.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>30 September 2007, Amritapuri<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s 1am in the boy&#8217;s computer room a few days after the birthday.\u00a0 Raindrops are once again falling outside, as it has been all month.\u00a0\u00a0 That is, except on the day before, and day of the Birthday.<\/p>\n<p>It was simply Grace.\u00a0 Not a drop fell the entire day and night of the 26th making preparations and setup that much easier. The birthday itself started out dry. It was hot, but not unbearable.\u00a0 Umbrellas were in use again, this time to block out the sun.\u00a0 Though there were many puddles, small lakes, and lots of mud that had to be skirted, the crowds moved easily between Amritapuri Ashram and the University Campus across the backwaters.<\/p>\n<p>Around 10pm at night on the 27th, the rain came back.\u00a0 A quick downpour.\u00a0 But darshan had been going on for about 9 hours, and dinner had already been served, so the crowd had gotten smaller.\u00a0 Later, around 2 or 3am, the skies opened up once more \u2013 the heavy rains had returned.\u00a0\u00a0 It didn&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 The Baduka (adivasi tribals from the Kerala\/Tamil Nadu border) were dancing.\u00a0 Amma was in a festive mood.\u00a0\u00a0 We were all safe and dry under the shed.<\/p>\n<p>The rain has returned.\u00a0 It did go away.\u00a0 And it came again another day&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>Sri Pati<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rain Rain Went Away and Came Again Another Day&#8230;. 30 September 2007, Amritapuri It&#8217;s 1am in the boy&#8217;s computer room a few days after the birthday.\u00a0 Raindrops are once again falling outside, as it has been all month.\u00a0\u00a0 That is, except on the day before, and day of the Birthday.
