  1. My favorite is “Amma Amma Taye”. It’s very powerful and expresses what Amma is.
Another one that I like so much is, “Devi Sharanam” (I’m not sure that this is exact the name). The words are: “Devi Sharanam, Durge Sharanam, Kali Sharanam, Lakshmi Sharanam, Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Sharanam Amma, Sharanam Sharanam Amma…….” Does anyone know the exact name of this bhajan?

  2. When I am utterly focused on the Blessed Amma during Bhajans it does not matter what Bhajan it is. That is the point, One should be lost in the moment as the sun is going into hiding and darkness is enveloping your part of the earth, and Bhajans fill ‘everything’ with bliss. Only the ‘personality’ can choose a Bhajan.

  3. Almost all bhajans except most english ones. I am not comfortable with those, I don’t know why! Maybe it’s because everyone around you can understand exactly what you’re singing!
My favorite two are Kalina Kanan (Amma herself wrote it.) and Jai Jai Janani (World tour 07)

  4. MATA RANI NE….KRIPA BARSAYI……
Dont know why….There is no reasons why love ammas bhajans. All are full of grace…..
    Jai kali maaa……..

  5. Why?

    Madhuradhipathe Akhilam Madhuram…

  6. I cannot name just one.. I like a whole lot of them…
Latest favorite has been “Mata Rani Ne”…
All time favorites have been a few including “Vedambike namo Nadambike”, “Dhanya Dhanye Janani”, “Tan Man ki Pushpanjali lekar”, “Kadutha Shogam” and “Jhilam Jhilam”….

  7. My goodness, there are so very many. Of the newer ones, my favorite is Man Re. Of the older ones, Amma Nin Rupam and Albhuta Charitre–both very powerful in their own way. Whatever would we do without Amma’s bhajans–my number one sadhana.

  8. Mata Rani is my favorite of this year. I like it so much the way Mother sings this. It gives me so much power and joy! Last year it was an Enlish bajan; Mother of all. I cried and cried with that one, it helps me to feel protected and loved. Maitri

  9. You know. I love Amma’s bhajans. All of them are so soothing on your soul. My favorite would be Ambe Jagadambe. It’s upbeat and is simple to follow. I also love Where Can I Go?. It is so true. If this is not the place where tears are understood, where CAN I go to cry?

  10. The list of favourite Bhajans is too long….
However I would say that ‘feelwise’, the recent favourite is the most popular Punjabi Bhajan “Mata Rani”…. and it is a treat to watch Amma singing this Bhajan during Darshans…

Another one of my favourite is the Malayalam Bhajan ” Omkaara Divya porulae….” The words of this Bhajan convey a lot of Amma messages… This Bhajan could be otherwise called as “Stairway to Moksha”….

  11. All Amma Bhajans are favourite for me. However, “MANASA VACHA KARMANA” I like the most because more often I get the blissful state whenever I hear or sing this bhajan. it’s so moving.

  12. My favourite bhajan is ‘Oru Nalum Piriyattor’.Its such a lovely song and especially when amma sings it…………..!Cant Explain in words!!!The second one is “Kattutta Sokamam” when swamiji sings it at the end of Devi Bhava and amma is showering Flowers on us.Those moments have become soooo rare in India now.

  13. As long as I listen to Amma’s soulful or rather soul-lifting voice, any bhajan would do for me. She imparts devotional fervour even to the worst tuned song.

  14. The list is endless….but current favorites in new bhajans are…Mata Rani..Jai jai janani….

  15. difficult to choose….but “Amma Amma Taye” and “Mata Rani” are very powerful….

  16. Ananda Veethi ………
its AMMA s song about AMMA… Its so intense and DEEP… TRUTH said in few Simple words….
it always reminds us to go deep into ourself and be with AMMA for eternity.
    As AMMA Says:
“Oh, my darling, come to Me, leaving all other works. You are always mine.”

  17. ALL AMMA BHAJANS ARE REALLY BEUTIFUL.THEY ARE GIVING LOT OF POWER

  18. For me, not knowing the languages, it’s always been the melody of a bhajan that grabs me. De Darshan Ma was one of my first favorites – ‘Ghod me teri ham ko basalo Ma….’ – the melody of this line still brings tears to my eyes. The words mean ‘Let me rest in your lap’…sigh… And it’s the bhajan I would use to practice endless hours of kaymine playing. ‘Samasta Papa Nashanam always brings back fond memories of my first days of meeting Amma. It was the bhajan Sw. Poornamritananda taught during the Rhode Island Retreat in 1997 ‘Amme I Jivande Kannunir Oppuvan’ always stirs my soul with its mournful melody. The list goes on……

  19. Bandamuntu Sontamuntu, it makes me cry every time.

  20. “Snehamritanandini…” and “neelambuja nayane…” …AMMA!!! am confused!! 🙂

  21. answer should be “all”; but still ,some lines from the bhajan ‘ PALI VEEZHUNNA NIN’ constantly reminds me of my situation.the meaning is: “I’m one among the many waves which have come to serve Your Lotus Feet. I longed to merge in You ,with out knowing how far You are!”

  22. This is a tough question. All bhajans are equally good. I like all bhajans.

  23. THOUGH I LOVE ALL AMMA BHAJANS THE ONE WHICH REALLY TOUCHES ME IS ‘GURUVATIANAVALE’.EACH AND EVERY WORD OF THIS BHAJAN WHENEVER I HEAR MAKES A CURRENT PASS THROUGH ME

  24. Jay Jay Janani , just happened to remember this bhajans from Amma program somehow it just captivated my heart .

  25. Each year I seem to have a changing list of favourite Bhajans. One of the earliest Bhajans I liked very much was “Sunle Pukar”. Then came my attachment to the Malayalam bhajans like “Albuta charitre”, “Ayikulil Dinakaran Maranju”, “Parasahsra hridayangalil” etc. Since I have never been very good at understanding the meanings of songs, now I am slowly growing to enjoy the lyrics of songs. So now everything is a favorite and I let my inner Amma point me to songs I can appreciate. BTW Krishna Bhajans are my all-time favorites too!

  26. Pelava kai viral……
    Kalpandarangalkkum…..
    why???? beyond words….

  27. My favorite is “AMMA AMMA Taye”, it expresses who AMMA is.

  28. any bhajan where amma breaks into laughter…. ha ha ha ha ha… thats beyond this world. mysterious laughter.

  29. I’m a little picky – Amma has to be singing with Swamiji (Amritapuri is the preferred place) and then I like the slow bhajans like – Airkullil, Oru Nalum and the faster bhajans like Ambe Jagadambe & Jai Jai Janani.

  30. Great question! It all depends on my mood really. From the 2006-June 2007- it was Manasa Vaca. In late June 2007 – it changed to Ni Endri (World Tour 2007 Vol 2 track 8). At the end of July to now, it is still Ni Endri and on days when I am a little happier, it is JaI Jai Jananni 🙂

  31. for me it is manasa vacha – the first time i heard amma sing it, i’d just gotten some news about a mentally ill family member who had tried to commit suicide. I was in India and wishing i could help him but felt helpless because i was so far away. Then that evening Amma sang this beautiful mournful song that had a translation about ‘please save me before i become a lunatic’ and ‘i don’t want this life’ and i felt like she knew and understood everything. ever since that bhajan has been special to me.

  32. This is the favourite … Sri Krishna Sharanam
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZW3a2Nonh8U

    Why?
    Madhuradhipathe Akhilam Madhuram…

  33. “pelava kaiviral thumbil pidichu njan…”
only once i have heard amma sing it….but from then on i have been in love with this bhajan……each time i listen,it invariably makes me feel tht iam with amma…..
another is “annai entratume”, a tamil bhajan and also “jai radha madhav..”

  34. sri krishna sharanam…amma rocks me

  35. “entamme ninmakkale”….my prayer is same as that bhajan,,

  36. I love “Bhaktita Jagadambe”. Inspiring and uplifting. And though not exactly a bhajan, “Lokah Samastha” sung by a few students for Amma’s 50th Birthday celebrations is AMAZING. A sample is available here http://site.theammashop.org/media/aav50d_1.mp3.

  37. MATA RANI KI JAI
DURGE DAREGILIDU BAARE (KANNADA); It keeps me near to amma

  38. All Amma’s bhajans are very very touching. I am very fond of “Peleva kaiviral thumbil pidichu”. Because i also have a strong wish to experience it.

  39. sunder hai naina tere of kanha sunder hai naina tere, the song is for Srikrishna and Srikrishna relates to AMMA. As I see SriKrishna’s picture i start identifying it with AMMA

  40. So many favorites ..Manasa vacha karmana, Ammayil manasam chernu, Kezhunnen manasam, Neelambhuja Nayane, Ini Oru Janmam, Darshan ki ichha, Amme Sharanam, Dar dar main, Pelava kai viral, Arikil undenkilum ..and the list goes on
why do i love them ..because they are the songs that my heart longs to sing to my Amma! Jai Jai Ma Kali!!!

  41. The one based on the boat race song – ti-ti-tara. Shiva Shiva Hara and Mere ghar Shyam ayega and many others

  42. After each Amma’s darshan, Amma stumbles me across bhajans either through other devotees or just plain it pops in my mind and then I get obsessed to learn the bhajan. The following are the ones in sequence of my visits:
    Parama Shiva mam pahi..sada shiva
    Rama…Ramabhadra..Ramachandraya vedhase
    Kamesha vamakshi kamade
    Om Namah Shivaya..Om Namah Shivaya..
    Mano Budhya ahamkara..
    Devi Sharanam
    Jai Jai Janani
    Dhanya Dhanye janani jaganmayi
    Karunalaye devi Kamita dayike
    Mere hridya pe nam bhase..
    Manasa Vacha Karmana.
    Dayakaro Tum Ganesha Ham Ko
    Sri Lalithambike sarva shakthe

  43. My Favorite bhajan is Om Namah Shivaya, sang by Amma. I remember that during my labor and birth of my daughter, my mother sang that tune to help me… Later when my daughter was five months old, I wished Amma would come to Dubai, as I was residing there at that time. In Dubai, Amma fulfilled a dear wish for me by singing ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ without any musical accompaniments!! I just love love love that song.

  44. My Favorite faster bhajans are
Devi Sharanam,AMMA AMMA Taye,GURUVATIANAVALE Mata Rani ne,Amriteswari jagdeswari and vagdeswaawri pahimam.
Big swamiji fulfilled a dear wish for me by singing all thosebajans when i visited her in Sydney08. I just love them

  45. First one is Kadutha sokamaam…my daily prayer to Amma, with word by word meaning-Sudharasam Nukarnnunarnnitatte njaan..
then second Bhaktavalsale devi..which comes out from my mouth unknowingly whenever I look at HER photo.
Third sreelalithambike sarvasakte…then comes Aarariyunnu nin mahavaibhavam, fifth one Snehamayi sreebhagavati.. next Mataraani Kripa..She fulfilled my wishes so sincerely I thank her for ‘HER Kripa’. Then comes ” Pelava Kaiviaral…” can’t explain how I felt when I heard it sung by Swamiji recently…

  46. All Bhajans r good. All are melodious and completely devotional. But my favorites are Amma Baramma, taye baramma; Radhe govind bhajo radhe govind;and Amma Amma Taye.

  47. “Amma Amma Taye…”

    All time favorite.

  48. I love them so much! All of them! But my favorites…? This year, it would be Khol Darwaza (that I only heard Amma sing once, but it was just pure bliss so…), Mayyaji Menu (I love this one so much!), Nannu Chusi, Nirmala Snehame, Kanivodukattarulitaname. The ones that are always close to my mind are Amma Amma Taye, Jai Jai Janani, Jinki karuna he apar (Santoshi Ma), Devi Sharanam, Mata Rani…
Each time I listen to Amma’s voice, remembering the way She probably sung the songs, with Her moves and all, I travel at Her feet, back into the bliss She gave me. Amma’s bhajans are not just musics, they lift us up closer to God. We are so blessed to have God Himself singing for us! ^^

  49. I love Shiva shiva hara hara very much. Very long days back i heard this bhajan. Actually i am searching to download that song by Swami Amritaswaroopanandaji. At the end of bhajan you cannot control yourself from dancing in ecstacy. If any of AMMA devotees help to download this particular bhajan i will be greatful. Om namasivaya.

  50. I love soo much a Bhajan that has been played in london and Mannheim last year tour.
It was played in London quite at the end of the devi bhava, when volunteers begun to desmont the shops.. etc. Before weddings.
one line of the chorus finish with janani.
If someone know the song it would be wunderfull to give me the name (michaelibre a gmail.com)

    Thank soo much family!
