The Puja finishes, and Amma heads inside the Mandapam.   Then we wait… We shuffle around so that we can all fit in the view of the camera that is transmitting our images to Amma, who is in Manheim.
After maybe 7 minutes, word comes, ‘Amma’s Calling!’   We shout out ‘Ammeeeeeeee!’   The Brahmacharis and Brahmacharinis all call out for Amma’s attention.   We wait for a reply.   ‘Ammeeeeeee!,’ we shout again.  And again.   Then, over the competing ‘Ammeeeees’, a beautiful voice is heard……..”Namah Sivayah Makale!”     Amma is there!  Our joy is expressed by even louder shouts of ‘Ammeeeee!’
Jokes and laughter follow.  A few minutes of bliss hearing Amma’s voice.  And then it’s quiet.  Amma has to get ready for Devi Bhava.
The curtains open for Ambike Devi, and we reverently chant along.  Then the curtains close. Swamiji starts singing ‘Jai Jai Satguru Maharani.’  And we wait some more…
When the curtains open again,  Amma is sitting with Her eyes closed, holding flower petals in Her hands, looking so blissful, so at peace, radiating such Motherly Love.  She is wearing a reddish/orange sari – Sanyas color,  but with gold designs.   Arati begins.  Swamini waves the lamp and offers flower petals at Amma’s feet.   Darshan begins.   And we wait for tomorrow to hear another ‘Namah Sivayah Makale!’
