The Dream Flower

The Dream Flower Of Our Hearts

20 Nov 2007,

How Amma is making our lives a joyous festival… the lives of multitudinous children, all over the globe … Simply ineffable! Incredible! Impossible even to understand!

Till two years ago, whenever Amma went on long foreign tours, poor us here with no idea whatsoever of Her (tight! busy!) schedule, would sit brooding, complaining how “She left us behind and went away….”  We would rationalize with our Egos at the center,   “So, by going away for a long time, She is teaching us to see Her within,” and so on till our poor brains collapsed in exhaustion.

These two years, thanks to Her Grace, we have been able to see Her through the web-cast.  ‘Within and Without- such distinction became a farce!

She was telling a relative of an ashramite in Holland that Her Amritapuri children were fond of Amma’s Devi Bhava and so She set up the web-castings – which allows us to interact with Her.  She added, “I, too, can see them, so I keep this laptop near me.” Amma fondly showed it to him.

Surely Her love is incomparable in very detail.

Only the other day, during Her program in Dublin, we saw Amma complaining about the alienation: The camera that was capturing Her image was placed a distance away from Her in the audience.  It was directly facing Her so that we could have a full view of Her form.  But the laptop that gave Her a view of us was sitting next to Her on the side – which meant that  She had to send us, Her children in India, signals, gestures, ummas…. over the heads of the audience there!. Amma found it so difficult to communicate with us, seeing us on her right – looking down, and then looking at the cam high –in front… in totally different directions. Amma wanted the web cam closer to Her! She felt Her children’s nearness like that! Oh, so sweet, Amma!

So next time, in Paris, the old system was resumed. Yeah, we too here felt, though the view was not really photographic, it was intimate: intimate to see Amma so close to the cam, Her form like a rising mountain… on the large screen… placed in the Kali temple.

And it was not for nothing: it was for a bigger treat that Amma made this change back.

You know what it was?

When Her satsang was being translated, Amma relaxed her posture, loosened her folded legs. She was now touching Her own left toes with Her right hand. Soon more of that little Lotus appeared. Was it Gautam, the kind one, who was managing the camera? So There! Soon we got to see the beautiful left foot of Amma, the dream flower of our hearts…on the large screen…..

Amma pulled her Feet back.

It was a glimpse, but a special gift.
