Little Yogis

14 Dec 2007, Amritapuri

The bhajans tonight were pure bliss combining old and new ones nicely. Etrayo Nalayi never leaves me cold and Parinamamiyalatta is also a gem.
Behind Amma were some children as usual and at some point they were playing a game in which they assumed various yogic meditation postures. One older girl kept adjusting a little boy’s posture until she was satisfied like a true yoga teacher with her disciple. She was especially vigilant that the boy’s spinal chord was kept straight without slumping. Can we say that we have similar awareness during the day? Amma has sometimes talked about the importance of keeping a good posture. It affects our daily life more than we think.

The songs were:

  • Manasa Chora Radha Krishna (HIndi)
  • Parinamamiyalatta (Mal)
  • Neerajanam (Telugu)
  • Shiva Shiva Hara Hara
  • Etrayo Nalayi (Mal)
  • Karunamayi Devi (Kannada)
  • Man Re (Hindi)
  • Ambe Maya maauli (Marati)
  • Amma  Amma Taye (Tamil)

  1. As you told, they are real gems. The bhajans we never forget as they dissolved deeply in our blood and heart. “Parinamamiyalatta parameshwari & Ethrayo nalayi kathirikkunu” – yes we Kozhikode people are really waiting for HER COMING – Welcome all.

  2. One bhajan is lacking in this list, after Siva Siva Hara Hara Amma sang the bhajan Mouna ghanamrita related with Lord Buddha.
