Last night we were watching Amma giving Devi Bhava Darshan in LA. This era of webcasts has really changed the atmosphere here in Amritapuri during the times Amma is away. Some years ago when Amma used to do the Europe and US tours one after the other she was away from the ashram over three months at a stretch, which really felt like an eternity to be separated from her especially in the years when there was not even an email connection to get some news about her every now and then. Of course there was the inner email of the heart but that is unfortunately not functioning all the time. Amma would of course sometimes also call over the phone, but still this level of interaction with her over the net really makes a difference. In one way it seems like Amma is not really gone, but somewhere just around the corner waiting to smile and joke around with us. Sometimes I make a joke that after Amma put chapattis on the menu for us and the webcasts started, monastic life became very easy.

Amma has really started a new era of multidimensional interaction, giving darshan in several places at a time. About the subtle dimensions that she is engaged in we naturally don’t even know about.

Last night at the end of the Devi Bhava Amma again interacted with everyone here for sometime and when it was time for her to go one of our brothers would have none of it and every time Amma turned around to go out of the tent he shouted “Mata Rani Ki Jai!” with everyone else responding. It was so loud that Amma turned around several times laughing all the while at the antics of her children back in Amritapuri. Even when the curtain was open and in full view of the hall she kept turning back to the little computer screen behind her.
