Finally things are back to normal. Amma returned from Reunion and Mauritius the day before yesterday and has been coming out for a question and answer session on both days. It is nice after the tour to be back in Amritapuri and enjoy Amma’s presence and talks here at home for a change. There is a cheery atmosphere everywhere.

Amma came early for bhajans today.

Even after sitting for Her bhajans for twelve years I still don’t experience any boredom, even with the songs that Amma has been singing most often. I really love all kinds of music but even the most beautiful symphonies, chorals, raga’s or other compositions grow stale after too much listening. But that is not so with devotional music, especially Amma’s. From the first time that I heard Her voice I was hooked. I felt that there was nothing as purifying and uplifting as Amma’s voice. Maybe some will think I am exaggerating but that really has been my experience. I often think to myself that even by that my birth has fulfilled that I was able to hear Amma’s voice and behold Her form. And this is coming from someone who always preferred to think of God without form, as the Ocean of Consciousness. However after meeting Amma I realized that the formless is always there, but that She is absolutely unique and present among us only for a certain period and that focusing on Her can easily eradicate lifetimes of darkness in an instant. Amma told me years ago to meditate on the formless, which made me a bit upset to which She reacted by calling me over later, even though I hadn’t mentioned anything externally and said: “Son, don’t worry, Mother’s form is included in the formless. There is no difference.”

Tonight Amma sang:

Hari Bol Hari Bol (Shyamavarna Sundaranga)
Parinamam Iyalatta
Muka Ganam
Mithi Madhure (Gujarati)
Etrayo Nalayi
Enaikakka Unaiyantri
Om Namah Shivaya
Amma neene Namgille (Kannada)
Ambe Jagadambe

I am from Singapore. I have been an Amma child for 20 years now and I fully agree when you say that you can never get bored of hearing Amma sing bhajans.. It is addictive and Her voice just touches your soul. thank you for updating those of us physically far away on Amma’s bhajans and ashram activities. Jai Ma!
