10th day San Ramon

Amma’s tenth day program in San Ramon, California
Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Amma has always blessed San Ramon with two Devi Bhava programs during summer time. The second Devi Bhava was more crowded than the first one. Devi Bhava started at 7 PM with Amma’s satsang followed by an Atma Puja. Amma started giving darshan at around 9 PM.

Amma was wearing a beautiful saree. It is hard to describe the saree – it had a light sandal colour as the base with patterns made of different colours and embellished with stone works. The saree looked different on the closed circuit TV and on the photos taken during that night when compared to seeing it directly with our eyes.

At the end of Devi Bhava, there were some Weddings, Annaprasana (first solid food feeding ceremony for babies) and Vidyarambam (writing initiation) ceremonies. Devi Bhava ended at around 11:30 AM on Sunday, June 15th.

During Amma’s previous San Ramon program in November 2007, the M.A.Center bought two calves for the ashram and Amma named them Sindhu and Lakshmi.  Click here for photo of ashram cows Sindhu and Lakshmi They are now seven months old. As Amma was leaving the program hall to travel to Los Angeles, Sindhu and Lakshmi were waiting by Her camper van. Amma kissed the cows goodbye before boarding the van.

It is said that when Krishna left Vrindavan, the gopis, gopas and the cows became very sad. That was the feeling when Amma left San Ramon after ten days of blissful programs. Then again, like Krishna, Amma did not go anywhere. She went to the Vrindavan of our hearts!
