At least that’s what it looked like on the TV screen in the ‘LA Comm Center’ where I was watching the puja. My favorite color – perhaps because it hints of Krishna.Amma came out at about 8:50 Pacific time tonight. Unfortunately, just as the curtain opened, the screen went blank – literally at that moment. Not sure if it affected the other TVs – there are probably more than a dozen scattered all over the hotel – in the overflow conference rooms, in the dining hall, on the deck outside.

LA is one of the biggest Devi Bhavas (outside of San Ramon). Darshan will probably continue to at least 11am tomorrow. Then it’s off to New Mexico as Amma’s North American Yatra continues.

  1. So much for TV screen color. The sari was more violet than blue. Still one of my favorites.

  2. Amma’s saree colour is a good topic of discussion these days. Like Sripati, I thought that it was a blue saree. I checked with a few devotees for confirmation. They discussed among themselves and even checked WikiPedia to reference a few colour patterns and finally said that it was ‘Royal purple’ colour! Amma looked spectacular in that saree.
The darshan ended at 11 AM.

  3. Yes, I agree with sudhakar. When mother wears a deep blue sari, it is hard to distinguish between violet or blue!!! Maybe that is part of Amma’s lila (divine play)…
