Everyday there a large number of patients waiting even before our doctors get to the hospital. So till the end of the day it is non-stop consultation and in the midst of all this we have emergency cases from time to time. Some we deal with, some we have to take in our ambulance to the government hospital, and sometimes a doctor has to go with the patient.

“But when I am tired and feel down I just have to catch a sight of Amal, who is generally seen running around the place, to feel fresh and light again,” said Dr. Srinath.

Amal Dev is seven year old and is mischievous as seven years old should be.  He had clambered up a tree and after some when he was on his way down he slipped and as he fell his face struck a jagged stump close to the bottom of the tree. It tore right through his cheek. When Dr. Vishnu examined him his finger went right through the hole in the cheek. At that time the child was not even able to speak.
Though he is a little monkey Amal is brave. Throughout the procedure he was silent, he did not cry out or act scared. Of course, we did give him anesthetics. The wound was about two and a half inches long. He had about 4 stitches inside and 8 stitches outside.
Dr. Srinath said, “By Amma’s grace we have a broad range of the best antibiotics. Many cases get aggravated due to wrong treatment or wrong medicines.

Rameshwar is 68 years old. He had a carbuncle on his back which the family tried to incise themselves. It got infected and then they had to go to a doctor. The local doctor gave some ointment and some antibiotics. But it was not enough and the wound became a big open sore oozing pus, it was very inflamed. We cleaned it out and applied the proper medicine and dressed the wound. he comes to us regularly to get his wound dressed daily. The wound is almost dry now.”

“So when I look at them, after a stressful day when I see Amal it lightens up my heart. I feel the weariness seep out of me. I feel contented. For if he had been anywhere else his condition might have become bad. Some referral hospitals here do not even have gloves, they do not even have BP apparatus. So when I see Amal I feel full. It is Amma’s Grace.”

  1. AMMA, bless us to open our blinded vision. To see and feel the sorrows and sufferings.
AMMA, bless us to open our blinded vision. To work selflessly for the wounded and wearied.

  2. What a way you have described and the pictures did the rest. Feel like having a melted heart. Hope you are taking best care of yourself. Healthy work needs healthy body.

  3. My body tingled at the reading of the posts and viewing of the pictures. I had to place my hand on my stomach which produced a sensation that travelled to my spine. Though the injuries were not life threatening both the wounds and the patients needed attention and loving care. Again Amma has reminded me of how blessed I am to have a healthy son who is more careful than careless…more darling than daring and more of a funny man than a stunt man.
