Gratitude

Listening to Amma’s bhajans has the effect of filling me with gratitude. After all these years with Amma I feel they are an essential part of my life and will probably always remain so. They have some essence that really helps to purify and bring clarity to the mind. I often feel that even more than meditation and other practices, since the bhajans appeal to every aspect of one’s personality and help to turn the ordinary in us towards the Divine. On some days the bhajans are especially potent and tonight was one of those.

Songs sung by Amma:

  • Govardhanadhara Gokula
  • Oru Nalum Piriyatto
  • Ennile Enne
  • Oru Nimisham Enkilum
  • Anbenum Sollukku Amma
  • Pahi Pahi Devi
  • Om Namah Shivaya
  • Jai Ma Ambe

  1. Hmm.. really feeling bad to have missed out these beautiful set of bhajans especially “Ennile Enne” !!

  2. It will be beautiful to be able to hear bhajans when opening Amma’s page and some background.

  3. Yes! I agree with Mass-Bahrain. Lets have an internet radio stream of Ammas Bhajans…there are so many that only 30 seconds of each would be needed 🙂 It would be especially fun for us foreigners who long to learn the new ones. Jai Amma!

  4. Dearest susannahpryce, what a wonderful idea indeed !! Today I searched for the lyrics of Jai Jai Janani, wanted to send them to a friend and I wasn’t able to find them on the web…
A section dedicated to bahjans would be fantastic.
Much love to all from Italy

  5. I fully agree with VishwanathJi that Bhajans sung by Amma have a profound effect and are more powerful than meditation bringing more clarity to mind . Thanks for posting .

  6. Thank you for posting the songs Vishwanath. Bhajans are the most powerful cleansing agent for me. For me singing is a meditation practice. It involves silence and breath and vibration. Sometimes It’s even better than sleep!
