On 29th me and my wife returned to Amritapuri after conducting month long IAM® Shivirs and Satsangs in West Bengal.
By evening I got a desperate phone call from one of Amma’s darling daughters from a small town of W.B. In her own words, “ Uncle you had given me 3 photos of Amma out of which one is a very compassionate picture. The other day I felt that in that photo Amma’s eyes were filled with tears! First I thought it was an illusion. But I observed closely, Her eyes were certainly looking like filled with tears. Next day I found tear drops below Her eyes. I wiped them clean but I am worried why should Amma cry in my house even though I have been keeping Her photos with great love and care. Please ask Amma and let me know the reason. I am really feeling sad and worried.”
Next day I went for Amma’s darshan having been away from Her for 2 months. After my hug I narrated this event to Amma. Amma gave a sweet smile and said, “Tell her not to worry!”
I conveyed this message to the young lady and she was very happy hearing Amma’s reply.
What did Amma mean?
I was discussing the matter with a brahmachari who I had told earlier about this young lady. His explanation seemed to be logical. He said, “This daughter has a lot of yearning to meet Amma in Amritapuri but there is no one to bring her here. Others at home are not that interested in Amma. So, Amma gave her this experience to enhance her faith letting her know that Amma is always with her and she should not feel left out!”
I would also like to share with the readers that this lady phoned me a couple of months ago and said happily, “Uncle, Amma is not a woman, She is none other than Krishna. That’s why She has been playing all this mischief with me!”
That’s but natural, I thought. Her birthplace is Krishnanagar, very close to Mayapur, the birthplace of Mahaprabhu Sri Chaitanya. Influence of Sri Krishna in all these adjacent districts is unmistakable.
