Transformation in thinking
On this auspicious occasion of Amritavarsham’62 we got an opportunity to interact with a Mumbai based businessman – Mr. Ashok Lal. Ashokji is running the North Indian canteen since last evening for Amma’s birthday, serving delicious dishes to appease the North Indian palate….Jilebi is a super-hit!
He shared with us his journey from non-spirituality to being a devotee, right after the first darshan of Amma.
“I am from hotel industry. I met Amma six years back and became a devotee. We started doing seva in a public program conducted by Amma in Mumbai – cooking food for around 10,000 people, free distribution for 15,000 people. Then we, with my wife started doing seva in ashram in Amritapuri. I feel very, very blessed to do this and very fortunate that Amma has given me this opportunity. At the end of the day we are all instruments in her hand, and through us She gets her work done, and I feel very blessed that I have been chosen by her.
“I know what I was five years back and what I am now. My thinking has changed. My outlook towards life has changed. Amma has taught me to help everybody so I am doing it. It has tremendously benefitted me. I would like to say that the real transformation that has happened is in my thinking. I feel that every day I am trying to become a better human being. I am trying to follow her to become a better human being, and She is helping me too. I owe my existence to her. Even before I met her….when I rewind… I think She was always there with me. She is continuously sending signals and it is up to the devotees to receive.”
