Tuning back in
I returned to Amritapuri from Europe last night. At first it’s always a bit overwhelming to be back. The system goes into a slight shock since this place is something so different from other places in the world and parts of the mind and body don’t quite know how to react. The first sadhana that I did was to go to sleep in the dorm that’s in the temple, since Amritapuri is so holy that even while sleeping the vibrations enter deep into you. This then helps one to re-attune to the energy present here. Even in my sleep I was conscious of some sort of bliss that pervades the ashram and was filled with happiness. In the morning I woke up much more tuned so to say, but still slightly out of place. To my delight I heard the temple bell ringing and announcing Amma’s imminent arrival and went for the second treatment, to receive the holy sight of our Mother, the Eternal Universal Mother incarnate. Such beauty, grace and Love – I felt that I was tuned in one more notch, so to say. Even so, for me the time when I connect with Amma the most is during bhajans so I was really looking forward to them and I was not disappointed. Usually I sit on stage but this time I sat downstairs and the view from there is so beautiful also. I gazed up at Amma lost in Her sweetness and felt that I had arrived and prayed to shed a few tears to wash away the hardness that easily covers the heart if left dry for too long. Sorry, I cannot recall what songs She sang.
