  1. Takes two to Tango , I would almost say first pray then listen or either way
Listening can also become form of prayer / meditation

  2. no doubt surrender ourselves at guru’s hand .. become a pure instrument in Amma’s hands .. no need to pray out .. of course that is not so easy .. because we pray to Amma for every petty thing .. but Amma is more concerned about US, so all the prayers are not answered… so listen to Guru .. have total faith in Guru .. nothing will remain…

  3. One could say that God is always listening. Amma has said that every thought we have first passes through Her. We should first listen FOR God – to tune in, so to say, and find that part of us that is connected – then listen TO what God is saying.

  4. Of course, we should listen to AMMA more because our needs and prayers are endless and through listening to AMMA we will be able to get control over unlimited needs. (By the way, who knows better regarding ouselves than AMMA?)

  5. first i have to pray to GOD to make me listen to Him always 🙂

  6. Both… listen and pray!

  7. Listen, remember, have faith in God Amma always, chant our mantra, open our hearts to love and serve all, become calm and peaceful,
God/Amma will hear our sincere prayers.

  8. Of course i must listen to GOD. In listening to God there is NO “MORE”, for “MORE” carries burden. Should i make him listen to my hearts prayer more? Its like telling GOD that you dont have proper understanding, because you are not listening to my prayers, and this would be my ego. I want to keep listening to GOD to an extent that only gods thoughts dwell in my heart. The thoughts even to pray should fall away.

  9. We should be listening more to God… Our prayers will be containing materialistic desires which will lead us to more sorrow… The best option will be praying to God for attaining a state of total surrender which is the only way to transcend pair of opposites…. I dont know… I am getting confused…. I cannot stop praying to Amma….

  10. Listen, and get inspiration to pray with deeper bhava,
    or…
pray, and get inspiration to listen with more receptivity… 🙂

Then repeat the 2 cycles again and again, as per the inspiration…

  11. We should listen to God more, He always listen to our heart’s prayers.

  12. Both. Listening to God is very important, and so is praying. I personally do both. Pray and then wait for the “response”, in what ever form it takes. He will always listen to anyone’s prayers. How could he not? Isn’t he surrounding us now?
I do think we should listen a bit more. Sometimes you can miss the response to your prayer.

  13. As we evolve in contemplation
The prayer and the prayed are known to be one…
From the heart to whom is conveyed
    Is within always silently listening…
Answering all prayers to all cries
Is within the heart of all, the beloved…

  14. I think its a two way process… We should keep our hearts and mind open to Listen to God, appreciate all the things He is doing for us and acknowledge all his blessings and tremendous support through Prayers…. Listening and Praying, I think, goes hand in hand…

  15. I am of the opinion that prayer is a converasation with the Almighty, so i guess there is no confusion there… 🙂

  16. Our heart’s prayers are an open book to God. All we can do is listen and discern and interpret as best we can Her response or apparent lack of response.

  17. I hope we get the receptivity to listen more and also if our’s heart’s desire is not aligned to God’s voice have the strength to align it.

  18. I’ve struggled with this one. My tendency has been to focus more on the listening or the prayer, “Thy Will be Done”. But that could also be seen as a lack of self effort. It seems to me that Amma has been saying for years that the future of the earth depends on our prayers. I feel she is saying pray…pray…pray. I think I need to pay more attention to that!

  19. I think God (Amma) is already listening before we are praying. I speak from my personal experience of course. Amma seems to be everywhere. We also have to be prepared to listen to the answers to our prayer even though it may not be what we expected……because as the saying goes; Mother knows best! Jai Ma!

  20. For me I pray to Amma to help get rid of my vasanas, so that I can get clearer to be able to allow Her Grace to flow – that way I can listen with full awareness and take in all Her teachings and messages.

  21. We must listen to AMMA more

  22. So Listening to GOD is listening to everything and everyone that comes to you including happy and painful events. Do not react to these events.
Amma says, “Pray with all your heart to GOD. Only then will you be heard as your cries and tears can NOT be unheard by GOD.”

  23. where is the difference?…when u are deeply there there is no difference between “me” praying to him, or “him” talking to me…there is just peace…better to rest there.

  24. who is listening? who is praying? who is the prayer? without duality, there is no question…pure silence is the purest prayer. in pure silence, the prayer and the One praying and the One listening become One… Aum Amriteswaryai Namah

  25. This subject woke me up! To be honest I’ve only listened to myself and Amma says “awaken to the truth within you”. I deeply pray to Amma to help me truly listen to these words and lead me there.

  26. mananam thava charanam

  27. “Thumbam varum poothum Maravathunai manamaara pottrum nal ullam Vendum Amma…”……, so I pray to Amma to keep me listen to her………

  28. It does not matter. God and I are one. There is no difference. As long as you develop a close and sweet reationship with Amma everything is fine. AMMA!!!!!!!!

  29. I think it’s a combination
(& why is it just a ‘He’ ?!)

  30. Obviously, try to make him to hear my prayers. If not working, try to hear HIM

  31. When God is given a sacred place deep within our heart both happens simultaneously. We can always talk to God whether happy, sad or when not able to decide what is write or what is wrong.
u can tell or complain to Amma that there are still some of our internal enemies planted within us. Amma also speaks to us though we may be many thousands of kilometers away from her physically. Amma listens to our deepest of thoughts or mental statements, wherever we may be.

  32. we are reflections of the god;we hear ourselves within ourselves;amma helps us learn it.

  33. i think we have to do both..

  34. The first of the 9 steps of Bhakthi is listening. We need not tell God our heart’s prayers. He knows them automatically. Amma always says that ,if you are ready to take one step forward towards the Higher Truth, God will take hundreds of steps towards you.

  35. Withdraw from this world and the rest will be automatic

  36. Have faith in God Amma always, chant our mantra, open our hearts to Amma and her children.Do love all and serve all. Amma listens to our deepest of thoughts or mental statements, wherever we may be.
God/Amma will hear our sincere prayers.

  37. i want to listen Amma more…and how will i do that..i will cry and pray more to her…

  38. listen, by heart and enjoy him by prayer.
