  • Amma in Holland and Switzerland

18.10.2007, Winterthur, Switzerland Amma’s tour started in Holland this year and now She is in Switzerland. The programs in both places are of an average size I would say. Both the Dutch and Swiss people are by nature calm and reserved but also very friendly and warm. During the break in between the morning and evening programs I went for a walk in the lovely forests around the hall here in Winterthur and every person I met along the way greeted me with a smile and a nod.  This reflects also in the way the people come to Amma. Today…

  • Devi Bhava in Holland

16 Oct 2007, Amritapuri Devi Bhava ended this morning in Amritapuri (or Holland, depending on where you are physically). When the connection was first made around 9:30, Swamiji was chanting the 1000 names.   Many of the international visitors were in the Canteen eating breakfast at the time.  Swamiji’s voice boomed throughout the hall and we responded with ‘Om Parashaktyai Namah’ between bites. Having eaten a blissful breakfast, I joined my Brothers on stage.  Once again, the distance was blurred and we found ourselves in Holland. Amma was looking as beautiful as ever.   The garlands that hung around Her neck stood…

  • Devi Bhava in Amritapuri

15 Oct 2007, Amritapuri Actually, it’s Devi Bhava in Holland, and earlier this evening, we were watching it through the webcast, but who would have known the difference? Well over a hundred Brahmacharis had gathered on the stage in the main hall to get their first glimpse of Amma since She left for the Europe/US tour last Wednesday. The Brahmacharinis were in the Temple. Even though Amma was thousands of miles away., there were moments when I felt as if we were in Holland with Her. The first moment came during the puja. Everyone on the stage in Amritapuri was…

  • Amma’s Protection

I am one of the most fortunate amongst millions of people who have known AMMA . From the year 1991 I have had various experiences that have dragged more and more close to AMMA selflessly. One of the thrilling experience is the yearly function of ‘Avani-avittam ‘ which falls each year on the full moon day of the month of Sravan (August – September). This function is particularly important for the Hindus This day we change the sacred thread which we wear before teen age when symbolically the third eye or the eye of wisdom is opened. The holy festival…

  • Onam With Amma

28 Aug 2007, Amritapuri Yesterday was such a fun and action packed day I didn’t even find time to write. In the morning Amma came out around 10 o’clock and started with an Onam message, which is posted on Amritapuri.org. After the speech there was a vibrant rendition of Mata Rani Ne after which Amma led the whole crowd dancing to the tune of Amrita Vahini. During the song Swamiji really let loose behind the microphone. That’s one thing about Amma’s Swamis, while being real Sannyasins nevertheless they also know how to relax and have fun. Surely they are not…

  • Before the flower shower

Rio Devi Bhava 11 p.m. There are 11 weddings scheduled. “it’s overwhelming” is what some people in the bookstore had said yesterday, and I might suggest that 11 weddings is in the same category. The lines of people at the bookstore tables are several people deep 12:15 The photographer was just talking to me about some native medicine men that came and presented some herbs for Amma in darshan this afternoon. She tasted one that is good for women’s pain, abdominal pain in the vital body and energetic body. Another is used to purify the aura. These herbs grow only…

  • Sweetness in Toronto

I got in line for darshan near the end of the first night of Amma’s programs in Toronto. As I was coming off the chairs, a devotee came up to Amma with a pan of something covered in foil. Since she was one of the last people to get darshan that night, people were clustered around Amma’s chair and on the stage behind Her by that point – and I’m pretty sure more people hurried over when the following took place. The pan was unwrapped and discovered to contain a lovely batch of blueberry crumble. Amma took a tiny piece,…

  • Devi Bhava in Rio

Mother is giving Devibhava darshan at this moment when I write this. It is 11 PM and the hall is full. People have been very devoted today. They applauded a lot for the video about Amma’s charity which they saw before Amma came. Mother has orange colored sari with golden broidery. She looks very beautiful in it, so beautiful! That is all I can say at this moment. At Amma’s Feet Ahalya, Rio, Brazil, 2 August 2007.
