  • Amma arrives…

With Her tender lotus feet softer than lotus, AMMA arrives, let‘s offer our heart’s lotus. With Her tender lotus feet softer than lotus, AMMA arrives, let’s offer the fragrant flowers. With Her beaming smiles more effulgent than a million suns, AMMA arrives, let’s chant the mantra “om amriteswaryai namah” To dispel all sorrows and meet our AMMA in our innocent hearts. With Her lovely lotus-like eyes more coolant than a billion full-moons, AMMA arrives, let’s chant the mantra “om lokah samasthah sukhino bhavanthu” To dispel all agonies and share AMMA’s Pure Love in the entire universe. — Sridhar

  • Away from you

Poem written by 8 year old Sarada after the last San Ramon program, as she could not bear to part from Amma: Amma, I surrender to you every day and night, When the half moon rises and when the little birds chirp… Whenever I see something that is dear to me, I see that it is all in You… Amma, every time you go away from me, I cannot stand being away from You… Amma I surrender to You… When will You come to me? Every day I think of You and dream about You… I know that You are…

  • Supreme Divine Mother

O! Supreme Divine Mother, offering a song to Thee   O! Supreme Divine Mother, stars studded in Thy crown, On Thy forehead we find, so beautiful the crescent moon. Ma, all Gods wearing clothes of yellowish hue praising Thee, Even so in tottering praises, Thy child offers a song to Thee .   The fire God offered his effulgence to keep Thee, so warm The water God offered his streams to wash Thy feet, so charm Ma, all Gods wearing clothes of yellowish hue praising Thee, Even so in tottering praises, Thy child offers a song to Thee .  …

  • Look!

My cataract is removed. With awe I open my eyes; as if seeing the world for the first time. A brave new world is unfolding before me by its full splendor. by its glow, glitter gleam n ’glamour. My retina receives a colour burst. Oh what I have missed all these time! Flowers in its best hue and colour, spreads fragrance of ecstasy. Fresh green leaves nod in intoxication. Silky sprouts of fresh buds disco dance. An exotic world is dancing before my eyes. A thousand suns rise. Full moon lit every corner of earth. Lotus and water lilies bloom.…

  • Amma sent us to Sabarimala

It was Amma who sent us to Sabarimala. Well, we all know it. You may wonder why I am saying it. I am saying it with double emphasis, with gratitude. I will say once again that it was indeed Amma who sent us. The young brahmacharies were apprehensive about our ability and health. They didn’t dare to encourage our enthusiasm. Instead of working and being of help, would we become a burden to them? – a practical problem! But Amma’s decision alone prevails.     We were shown a place for cleaning. It was a mound of waste.   The spot…

  • Swimming with Ma-Om

I had this insight when swimming. The mantra I use is Ma Om. Under water I use Om. It is the internal. The effort you make in the stroke is up to you, no one can see, no one can do it for you. This is the relationship with the Self. When I come up for air, that is Ma. She is always there, like the breath. As the breath, we need Her to keep going. It always seems quick, coming up for air, it is so fleeting, just enough time with Her so we don’t drown. This is my…
