    Coming from a rural village in Wayanad, Prajith, 17, wants to be Fashion Designer.  Staying with his mom, he is doing his 12th grade studies in the Vocational High School at Mananthavadi, Wayanad. His dad doesn’t stay with them. He is one of many teenagers in Kerala who dream big but never find the information or opportunity to realize their dreams.     I had once heard someone say that the dreams and aspirations of small children are as endearing and energetic as the waves that shatter against the rocks on the sea shore.  Thirteen year old Unni from a fishing colony of Kodungallur dreams big in life. .   • Taking care like elder brothers and sisters

    25 sep 2009, Amritapuri Every year, students and staff of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are active participants various service activities that an event of such large scale as Amma’s birthday celebrations entail. This year, their services call for something more than just their physical presence at the venue, but compassionate commitment towards a group of children who come from financially underprivileged sections of the society. These are beneficiaries of Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s Vidyamritam programme, around 10,000 children who find the quarterly stipend given by the Math their only window to the outside world.   • Ambitious and thankful

    Vipin, hailing from Mananthavadi, Wayanad is another student who has been benefited by the Vidyamritam scholarship provided to students who can’t afford their studies. Thanks to the scholarship scheme, he is now pursuing his first year studies at the ITC-Gwalior and expects to get a job this field in the next three years.   • Amma changed my life

    Vishnu, a slim, smart and active kid and an 8th grader from Kalpetta is one among the many talented students on whom fate has been really harsh. A heart-attack separated his father, the only earning member in the family, from him. His father was tailor and earned a meager amount in which his studies and all the household necessities were fulfilled.
