When I had a deep desire to give water to the ashramite with wings (the eagle), I didn’t know what was in store for me.
The other day I’d seen some Brahmacharis giving water to our friend (who is a nightmare for some since he / she snatches food from their plates). I thought then I should also feed it one day.
So today morning I was asking one Brahmachari when and how I could do this. He said when the eagle comes and sits in its usual place by the side of the dining hall I could feed it. I kept that in my mind.
I had to deliver a satsang at 9:15am. I went to the stage. Lo and behold! Our little friend is on one of the chairs as if waiting for a darshan token. I prostrated in front of Amma’s photo and sat on the stage. I started chanting Om. I was only half way through and over the mic, the audience heard my shriek. On my head was our flying friend. It was quite happy to have landed perfectly and didn’t seem to go. I slowly looked up, not daring to drive it away. Very soon it started picking at my hair (what little is there on my head). At that time luckily Brahmachari Krishna came to my rescue and drove it away.
Strange indeed are Amma’s ways of fulfilling one’s desires.
