Parippuvada

a devotee brought parippuvada to amma during darshan. the moment she opened the vessel. the smell of curry leaves and dal fried in pure coconut oil filled the darshan stage.  yummm.. my nostrils flared in appreciation. looking at amma i told her, it’s very good. very good smell. i took a lung full of air. uuuuuumhhhh

amma took one parippuvada in each hand. she took a bite from her right hand. then. feeling that the one in her left hand was bigger and will feel sad. she took a bite from the left hand. then one from the right hand, then again from the left. amma was looking at each piece and weighting it before going for a bite. what a cute little girl she was for a few moments. all this time, the devotee who brought the parippuvada was in amma’s lap.
amma fed the parippuvada to the devotee and distributed it to all on the stage.

  1. Amma brings us parippuvada every day. The moment we envision our beautiful Ammachi, our vessels open and her love fills us. yummm.. Hearts swell in bliss and gratitude to the beloved Immortal Mother. Amma tells us service to others is very good so we must inhale her daily example of selflessness as we would a lung full of air uuuuuumhhhh
Like eating the parippuvada Amma takes us into her hands and embraces us equally. She looks at us and weighs each of our sorrows before devouring them.
Just as Amma feeds the parippuvada to the devotees and distributes it to all on the stage, we too must feed Amma’s love to the others and distribute that joy and light to all.
