The color red symbolises Love for me: everything that love encapsulates, red roses and red hearts.I don’t associate red with anything but Valentine’s Day. Sometimes, very rare that is, when I think of the color red, I associate it with Goddess Kali’s flaming Red Sari.

Red colour is Kali Ma’s clothes. And also her hibiscus. It is a happy auspicious colour of weddings, kum kum and temples. Blood – which some speak of as in the same vein as the soul. Ex:”We are all the same. If you cut me there is blood and if you cut her there is the same blood!” But flowing blood/red always is frightening. Not to Ma Kali.

Red is the colour of Kali. I see Red colour with “bhakthi”.When I see plain Red clothes it takes me to the “Kavu” in my native place in Kerala where Devi is the “Prathista” on top of the hill with picturistique sorroundings. While writing this I see on the right of my screen under AMMA Chimes: “Amma is in the Kali Temple”!!!
    JAI MAA!!

The color red symbolises energy and auspiciousness for me. Kumkum is red in color, red rose is so beautiful. The sun at dawn is red. Red is so bright a color that it attracts attention immediately. I love Amma in dark red sarees as Amma looks so stunningly beautiful like Devi Incarnate in that.

for me Red color symbolizes a political party in India. Unfortunately it just reminds me of another degraded political party as many other such parties in India which only think about the parties/party leaders, material gains rather than thinking or acting for the countries benefits or the good of the people of India.
its unfortunate that the red color doesn’t remind me of the Divine mother’s bindi on her beautiful forehead.

  9. Samanatwam – Equanimity: The blood of all humans, animals and birds is red.
Thyamgam – Sacrifice: Offering oneself to the service of others.
Prajnanam – The Brilliance Fire of Knowledge: The color of fire is also red.
Mangalam or Sri – Auspiciousness: Kumkum, or Bindu used in Sri Vidya or Sri Lalitha Puja

To me red takes me to different thoughts depending on where i see it… e.g. if its blood, i sense danger. If its a rose then thats the most beautiful colour and if its the kumkum on our Amma’s forehead it symbolises sunrise which ofcourse gives a hope that A New Day Has Come!!!

Red color represents Rajoguna in the Gunatreyam. It is in the nature of creativity and action. Red flowers and cloths are generally offered to Goddess Durga. It is the color of fire which is a bright element of the five elements and the nature of fire is to rise above and accept everything; as it is irrespective of the cast, creed, color, age, religion etc. and the ability to burn them into ashes, like the guru does with our egos…
