28 April 2010 – Kochi
amma sometimes would visit a devotee’s place. at the house, she would first perform a puja and then would gather to talk with the family members. likewise during one visit in kochi, after the puja, amma was meeting with the family privately in a room. after few minutes, the little girl of the house whispered secretly in amma’s ears. amma started laughing and then explained what the little girl had just told her.
(“avalkku njan avalute kannne kanichu kotutha mati” അവള്ക്കു ഞാന് അവളുടെ കണ്ണനെ കാണിചു കൊടുത്താല് മതി)
“she(the little girl) only wants me to show her kanna (krishna)”, amma told.
holding that little girl tightly to her bosom, amma laughed mischievously. pushing the little girl back and looking deep into her eyes amma raised a question. “how will you see kanna?” and the girl remained silent.
amma continued “love every one, kanna is hiding in every one.
(“ekkanu kondalla, ulkannu kondu, jnanakkannu kondu venam kannane kanan” ഈ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ഡല്ല, ഉള്ക്കണ്ണുകണ്ണുകൊണ്ഡ്. ജ്ഞാനക്കണ്ണു കൊണ്ഡുവേണം കണ്ണനെ കാണാന്)
see him not with these eyes(indicating the external eyes) but with inner eye, the eye of knowledge. only then, kanna will not have any place to hide. he has to come in front of you. there is no other way.”
although it was this eight-year old krishnapriya (little girl’s name) who asked the question, amma’s answer was pointing the path. one could not only be impressed seeing the questioner but be amazed hearing that answer as well.
