Question
Q208: Universal Oneness?
Question 208:
Amma says:
“Only when your thoughts finally decrease, will your oneness with the entire universe be revealed to you.”
How do you understand this?
Please make your answer brief and clear (maximum 5 or 6 lines).
I think no thoughts means no attachment, no aversion to anything just peace inside. being “unclutched” not feeding the thoughts when they come up (letting them drift by) to not give them power.
Getting to silence (i think) in part by continuous heartfelt mantra repetition, being with a mahatma if you can (or at least reading a mahatmas books 15 minutes a day if you cant), selfless service to clear karma, daily meditation, satsang, and ahimsa, (non violence) in thought word, deed. My opinion, right or wrong.
The mind is a continuous stream of thoughts. By constant spiritual practice, the unnecessary thoughts can be eliminated and one can experience that abiding peace within. One is in harmony with the whole of creation. All negativities like anger, hatred, jealousy, envy and fear vanish as one finds the underlying oneness with everything else in the universe! Our beloved AMMA exemplifies this statement perfectly, since SHE manifests HER onenness with each and every person during Darshan. All those who have had darshan have surely experienced that wave of bliss permeating their body and mind in that moment of Oneness!
The problem with thoughts is not only that they keep us restless, but also that we fully identify with them. Being identified with a certain ‘me, which thinks and feels great about itself’ (the ego) separates us from our much larger identity which is as large as the universe (the eternal Self), which is One with the Universe…
Amma is trying to inspire us to free ourselves from the endless stream of thoughts = ego identities.
Our thoughts constantly distract the mind and prevent it from resting in the pure consciousness of Atman-Brahman or Sat-Chit-Ananda. Witness these thoughts in meditation until they quieten down. Then eventually, once they are still, the pure Atman which is not other than the entire universe will shine.
What my Divine AA wants she and she only knowsd. By this proverb she is teaching us to recognise ourselves and once we know the truth that who we are than no thoughts nothing only AMMA and AMMA
The mind is the place where all thoughts appear. If we concentrate the mind on the Supreme Lord, all thoughts will begin to decrease and finally disappear.Once God dwells in our mind and in each and every single atom of our body, when we begin to yearn for Him, only then we will understand that we are not different from Him. The entire universe is Lord’s creation, each and every being belongs to Him just as we belong to him..therefore, once our thoughts decrease we will begin to love each and every being equally since we will see the Lord in everything.
Actualy there is not a visible equipment which is called Mind. The flow of thoughts will form a Mind. If there is no thoughts ,then thers is not a Mind at all.If you rottate very fast a burned or lighted insence stick or a fire wood ,It will show or make a circle. And when it stops its rottation, we can see the one flame which is the central point of the circle(Bindu).Just like with the flow of thoughts the mind is formed.Thinking or meditating about a Bindu is very interesting. We can make the the area of the circle both very big ,and very small. If the area is very big you are far away from the Bindu, and vice versa. This is principle of our thoughts also .If the thoughts are very large in numbers ,we are so far away from our True Self..and vice versa. If we decrease the qauntity of thoughts and increase the quality of thoughts and then the gap between the two thoughts will be long. That is real silence. And at last concentrate in a single pointed higher thought. That is the process of meditation. That is the state of Thuriyam. That is the Nirvikalpa Samadhi. This is the stage that where we can feel the state of SHIVOHAM,AHAMASMI ETC.If you can experience this state, you can reveal the ONENESS WITH THE UNIVERSE.I Think this is our mmost beloved Amma wish to say to us .
Relaxing into the abode of the Supreme, the mind finds peace in the heart. Experiencing what cannot be “experienced”. Melting into what’s too big to define. Fulfilled, desires decline and thoughts subside. The waves and the ocean are “seen” as one.
When we relax into the heart center or the abode of the Supreme, the mind finds peace. As we begin to dissolve into the unlimited expansiveness of the Self, we “experience” what is beyond all senses and definitions. Our desires become subdued because we feel whole and complete. Thoughts naturally subside as there is nothing more to seek. Without thought division fades. What was previously seen as many naturally becomes one….
when all wandering of my mind stops then it will have my mind like crystal clear water and i will see my self so clear like the reflection of the full moon in the water and then i have universal oneness and my enemies (including my boss) looks more friendly than any body and i feel i am in mother nature lap. now that looks magic by just a view of self but its so.
In all the universe there is but one thought. Only when we ignore the endless chatter of the mind can we know the depth of God’s love.
Thoughts are there due to duality. When we dive deep into spirituality, we end up with the fact that ego is the main problem. Ego can be removed with Guru’s blessings. Only when a person realises that everything is done by God, anything and everything that happens around him is His sakti only, then only complete surrender happens. This will naturally lead to oneness.
Only AMMAS’guidance by following her teachings can we reach a stage thoughtlessness. If we reach there how bliss ful it would be.Just a second of thought lessness during meditation is such a wonderful experience.
Before coming in to the company of ‘The Master’ my mind (all thought) is made up. Made up of being seperate from the ‘One Whole’ or ‘God’. Untill the mind ‘made up’ of that is revealed and then surrended or ‘Let go’. Tendency to use the mind from that limited point of veiw, does not leave the body/mind free to open up, expand and grow. The full body feeling of being already ‘Whole’ lets the body/mind rest more in what ever is going on.With that less thought is needed.
Thoughts are like waves on ocean. It waves incesant. But when one realises that those waves are nothing but ocean itself, takes you into another realm, there you are dived into depth of ocean there
calmness prevails. Now you are one with the calmness in eternal silence merging with the ultimate magnanimity, the universe.
Yogah Chittha Vritthi Nirodhah. All attempts in various spiritual practices[[Bhakthi, Jnana, Raja, Karma Yogas]] is to calm down the mind or eliminate all thoughts, which is yet to be uncovered by me.
Samadhi is the end in which the Supreme Effulgence is restored back as if one saved from a great deluge and becomes one with the Universal Consciousness.
When our thoughts finally decrease, we get connected to the “Antaryami” within us. Antaryami is nothing but the energy that is unchangeble, undestructible. We must understand that the entire universe is the changeble form of the the unchangeble!! That is, the “Antaryami”. It is a slightly difficult concept to understand, and even more harder to experience. Yet through, deep meditation, saadhana, and by Guru’s grace it is compeletely achievable!!!! May Amma bless us to reach the “no-thought” state of consciousness.
Thoughts are a major contributor to the creation and entertaining of the veil of Maya. They constitute a big chunk of our ego. They provide us with many feelings and impressions: our importance, uniqueness..etc. No wonder that most live their entire life cherishing them and strengthening their bond with the mind.Only there is better: the peace of Oneness, our original state, when the whole Universe exists in us and we in It. One is reflected in the other and by Him with no barrier nor obstacle, as if in an act of endless Union. One condition must be met though and it is that thoughts subside making way for the wave of Unity.
Thoughts are responsible for making us go back to past or to move us in to future, which are both out of our hands. They are illusion. When we decrease our thoughts,(which is called shunya), like Amma, we become aware. By being aware, we are always in the present and this awareness state leads us to meditation and when one does this meditation he develops the connection to the universe and the eternal spirit present in every thing.Lokah Samasthe Sukino Bhavanthu….
Less luggage means, more comfort and more space.Thoughts are like luggages. Less thoughts, more space and hence more happiness. The entire universe is only space. In fact, we all have occupied space. In my opinion, if we remove the thoughts that occupy space within, it will start reflecting the universe, because universe is space. Both, inside and outside, there is only space…. that is nothingness, and at the same time this nothingness is everything as it pervades everything and this everything is GOD or AMMA.
O estado de meditação, permite transcender os pensamentos e alcançar o silencio interior e contemplar o vazio, que expressão do amor infinito do Divino. É uma pratica que leva a sentir esse estado de ser.
Mind is defined as the continuous flow of thoughts. When there are no thoughts, the Atma reveals itself to us.Swami Purnamritanandaji says “Unconscious meditation is Sushupthi (deep sleep) and conscious meditation is Samadhi(Realisation).” We are all very fond of deep sleep truly because there we are one with the Ultimate. Fewer the thoughts, longer and deeper our happiness. So conscious reduction of thoughts is the only way to oneness.
Only when Guru give a grace, there is know mind, no though and
nothing is more Great the a Guru and Beatitude is appearing.
