I first saw Amma on a CBS special: In God’s Name. I was immediately attracted to her presence.
Then I saw a PBS special called: Darshan.
I wrote this little poem about my experience of watching her on TV:
to see a glimpse
to experience a welcoming hug
to feel accepted and loved
this is darshan
this is God

A glimpse or a touch of a Mahatma is enough
for purification. Yes it is true that many people
all over the world got this fortune from AMMA,
the Love Incarnation.
Touched…heart opening…
very true, simple and loving words.
I too feel the same way. Amma is Kali – The Universal Mother.
No doubt.
Two years passes since my last darshan.
I want to have again a darshan soon.
I am in a foreign land now.
This separation made me writing poems on her.
I have written so far 69 poems.

My poem :
M A A ` A M R I T A N A N D A M A Y I ` D E V I!
As a second Himalaya She stands on India’s south tip;
As a second Ganges Her love flows for anyone’s dip!
As a second Moon She spreads wisdom around globe;
As a second Krishna She chooses pure hearts Her abode!
She is RamaKrishna an ascetic to merge in Kali;
Sri Sarada is also She, as purity has taken a form.
Vivekananda is also She in spreading ‘Sanadana Dharma’;
She is many in one – Amrita! , what an incomparable enigma!
Caste and creed take their wings in Her holy presence;
Waste and vain turn as craft in Her moulding hands;
Millions and billions are moved by Her unique hug;
She emits Love even to those who find only bug!
Life seems to be functional after having met Her eyes;
Her touch made valuable this body but a bunch of lies;
Even a thousands of times let Her touch. Will it bore?
When multitudes wait, the pain of parting, I must bear!
Maa, Come like a charged dark cloud to shower Your Love;
How long I sustain my little life in the desert of separation?
Days roll fast. My life goes waste without Your grace;
Delay not! Come quickly! ! I need badly Your embrace! ! !
I waited many years for my first darshan…it was worth the wait:-).
Kathy!!! That is so sweet of you! It is destiny that led you to Mother’s open arms… have you ever gone to Devi Bhava darshan???? It is magnificent!!!!!!!!
