  • Dazzling White

Last night and today we were again online watching the beginning and end of the Devi-bhava in Toulon, France. The program there was huge and the venue also. When the curtains opened this time Amma was dressed in a silvery white sari. Quite dazzling actually and I do not recall seeing Amma often wearing such a sari for Devi-bhava. Very majestic appearance – Devi, the Ruler of the Universe, sitting on Her throne dispensing blessings for everyone, with Her sari reflecting white light everywhere. At the end we got a our share of virtual hugs and flying kisses again. Sweet!…

  • Attention of Devi

Subtle attention of the Devi We were blessed to see the Devi Bhava also from Barcelona. Mother wore a blue sari. This time the quality of the images of webcam connection was the best till now. While her satsang was translated into Spanish Mother showed to the children sitting around her the webcam and our pictures on the laptop screen that was near her. She always wants them to know about us in Amritapuri. There was one small boy who was behind Mother. When he knew we will see them he started waving his hand every once and a while…

  • All you need is My Blessing

We did not see very much of the end of the Devi Bhava in Barcelona. Only the very last ceremonies and when Mother threw flowers on the devotees. But when Mother was standing with flower petals in her hand I who happened to have my birth day that day thought: ‘Now I am so and so old, Oh Mother give me a sign what next, a very clear sign, not those hidden difficult to understand signs.’ At that very moment Mother suddenly smiled to the camera and threw quickly a huge amount flowers towards the webcam. Of course, they were…

  • Resist Spanish ‘tapas’

To resist Spanish ‘tapas’ one needs Indian ‘tapas’ During Mother’s Devi Bhava in Barcelona the webcam team went around the program place and transmitted us for few hours images from everything like book stalls, Amma dolls, tables of AmritaTV, of CDs, of French ashram, etc. We saw many ashramites and devotees either passing by or doing some seva. Many stopped before the camera to greet us. But before the tour reached those places, at the beginning of the tour the highlight was very long time in food section, which was very big. Br. Shubamritaji who led most part of this…

  • Seeking the Seer

It was at 3.30 a.m., when I woke up. The half-an-hour nap the previous noon had help me get up quite early. I peeped out of the western window of the the 6th floor. The full moon was shining brightly with scattered white clouds in the blue-black sky and no starts nearby, while on the eastern side were innumerable stars glittering in the far away galaxy. The leaves of the banyan tree were only fluttering in the mild breeze. There was serene slience and even the tall cocoanut trees were standing still. The waves hitting the sea-shore 100 yards away,…

  • Blissed-out Dolphin

After a long time, I went for a long walk today, ending up at the beach. The sea is now bringing in sand, as if to increase the amount of sand on the shore. I sat on one of the rocks there for meditation. It wasn’t raining today unlike the last few days when it rained heavily. The sky was a grayish-blue colour. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds. As I gazed at the sea, I saw dolphins leaping into the air. Wow! They were jumping in joy. They would pop up from the water and stay in…

  • Inner Delight

Today Swami again explained part of the 26th shloka in the 5th chapter of the Gita, ‘Yontarsukhontararama..’ ‘Who ever has inner happiness, inner delight, inner light, he is a Yogi, and attains the Nirvana of Brahman.’ Today, we focused on the meaning of ‘antaramam,’ inner delight.’ This is a specialty of happiness that is eternal. All happiness gained from external objects is momentary. Even the status of Indra, king of the devas, is really only momentary, if compared with infinite time. Because these pleasures are not eternal, there is no ‘rama,’ in these. This ‘rama’ or delight happens when we…
