  • Historic moment at Buffalo

25 May Buffalo, NY I was fortunate to be there and want to share my experience with all of you. It was a historic occasion , probably one of a kind .. It was a great moment  that a university in US would choose to confer a doctorate not on a scientist or an engineer but a Sage, Spiritual Master… One of the deans said “In honoring  Amma, we are also honoring the TRADITION SHE REPRESENTS AND the  culture and  spirituality that India has to offer”. So it was a great day for  Sanatana  Dharma. Slee concert hall was large…

  • amma, i want to see my krishna!

28 April 2010 – Kochi amma sometimes would visit a devotee’s place. at the house, she would first perform a puja and then would gather to talk with the family members. likewise during one visit in kochi, after the puja, amma was meeting with the family privately in a room. after few minutes, the little girl of the house whispered secretly in amma’s ears. amma started laughing and then explained what the little girl had just told her. (“avalkku njan avalute kannne kanichu kotutha mati” അവള്‍ക്കു ഞാന്‍ അവളുടെ കണ്ണനെ കാണിചു കൊടുത്താല്‍ മതി) “she(the little girl) only wants me to show…

  • Thumbhans Bhava

11 April, Amritapuri It was a lovely evening yesterday. Amma’s Devi Bhava was going on in Australia. Devi Bhava is always a beautiful chance for the Ashramites to see and sometimes even talk to Amma as it is live telecasted to Amritapuri, albeit not always. It was almost 2 a.m. last night and Devi Bhava closing ceremony was about to start. Ashram’s halls were set and some brahmacharins were already there. In the main stage, just when the bell was rung to announce the showering of flowers, a surprise seemed attracting all those present. Thumbhan, our Ashram pet dog, had…

  • A good night wish

8 Mar 2010, New Delhi Amma’s first program in New Delhi was a public event at Mayur Vihar, a location one hour away by car from the Delhi Ashram. Traditional beats and music was downed in the awe-sound from the crowds of people who rushed to see her being welcomed in the traditional way. It was a simple start to a beautiful event.  As the program mellowed, Amma’s Satsang, Guided Meditation and Bhajans saw a sea of calmness and a dynamic sense of peace for many who had come from their various locations. Amma’s Darshan started and the first people…

  • sit erect, close your eyes

20 feb, hyderabad, bharata yatra 2010 ” now let us meditate for some time. sit erect. close your eyes.” if our beloved amma says this what will you do? of course even if we cannot follow her instructions fully, we pretend that we are doing it. but here in hyderabad people were different. they were clapping when she said that. why? because amma was speaking in their local language – telugu. the joy of listening to their mother speaking in their own mother-tongue has brought about such a celebration. “experience peace right from the head to the toes” they clapped…

  • Ammave parka pokalam

19 Feb, Bengaluru I want to share a beautiful experience that I had yesterday in Bangalore. I had taken Amma’s darshan on 17th morning. I refrained from going for a hug on18th, even though I had been issued a darshan token. Instead, I asked permission to sit behind Amma on stage, and to my delight, I was allowed to do so for two whole hours! I sat behind Amma, watching her tireless hugging, and was thrilled when Swami Amritaswarupananda came on stage to sing bhajans. As he began to sing in his resonant voice, I found myself wishing he would…

  • The journey has begun

13 Feb – Bharata Yatra  2010 We’re sitting on a dusty road side, probably next to the Kerala – Karnataka border. The sleepless night, the truck loading and the endless bus ride leaves no doubt: we’re now on tour. Her loving gaze caresses us, one after the other. And as the sun sets on this Shivaratri day, She reminds us of its profound meaning. Wake up She says, and forget not the Lord. Rise from your usual slumber to prevent the poison of ignorance from consuming your time. Make awareness the center of your life. Wake up She says, and…

  • opportunities to practice what is taught

12 feb 2010, talassery – bharata yatra whenever i travel, especially with amma, i am reminded of what amma said about yatra. she says that when the mind is on the ride, we are traveling. if not, then we are not, even if the body is moving. such a person’s mind is centered in the self.. (read the satsang) the bharata yatra of 2010 has started with the programs in talassery, one of the northern districts of kerala. amma has been coming to talassery for a long time. i still remember one of the earlier programs that happened at the…
