  • Mayyaji in Paris

    27 Oct 2009, Paris Amma’s Paris program started off with the best of best days, a Sunday. To many here, Sunday is observed with the family and sometimes a little more time for inner contemplation and prayer. The French seem to enjoy the timing of Amma’s Paris program starting on a Sunday here at Paris with the very same feelings. The first day, being a one day event, made the program much more exciting.   • i saw vaishno devi

    yesterday there was a padapuja by a lady and her mother who is in her 80s. they did the puja with great devotion. after the puja the lady talked to me. she introduced her mother. the old lady was planning to go to vaishno devi, the famous devi temple in jammu, at a height of 5200 feet above the sea level. you have to walk 14 km up mountains to reach this famous devi temple. recently she had a heart surgery, so she could not make it to vaishno devi. but her daughter, who is from mumbai, told her that…

  • Celebrating Krishna with Amma

    12 Sep 2009 Yesterday was Krishna Jayanti and at Amritapuri it is super special. Amma came out three times just for us to enjoy in her presence. Around 3:45 last evening, the popular game for children known as Uriyadi was staged near the new Juice stall. Uriyad or striking pots hung on a tall pole with a stick is a game where one or two people control a hanging pot and while another tries to strike it.     It’s been raining outside the past few days.  Is the sky raining tears of joy or tears of sorrow?  It’s the last night of Tour and Amma in on stage here in Toronto wearing a beautiful green sari.     Tour has rolled in and out of Dallas, then onto Iowa and is in Chicago where it is now Devi Bhava. Dallas and Iowa were both only two days so bhajans were only on the first night for each city.
