Back in Chicago, on Thursday, while I was doing the ‘lap position’ (helping to guide people into Amma’s arms, Amma was playfully scolding me. It is often the only time Tour Staff gets to see Amma -most of the time we’re in the Kitchen or Bookstore doing seva. Welcoming Amma with Fireworks… Wednesday was Independence Day and we had just arrived in Chicago after a four hour drive from Iowa. We were exhausted, but luckily, the short drive gave us ample time to unload the trucks, set up in the hall and kitchen, and have plenty of time to rest in the hotel before the next day’s program. Listening to Amma on cellphone
Om Namah Shivaya, This time I could not go to Chicago. However my wife had the blessings to be there with Amma in Chicago. I was very anxious to listen to Amma’s bhajans and she blessed me with a very unique way. My wife called me on her cellphone when Amma started singing bhajans. I was on the call for about 2 hours, listening to Amma’s bhajans, calling “Jai” when she said “Mata Rani Ki”, and the meditiation thereafter. Jai Amma ! Amma came into the hall in Dallas looking beautiful and radiant and full of Her Supreme Loving energy that is beyond all comprehension as always. The Pada Puja ceremony was performed and Amma made Her way up on to the stage. Some local officials came up to greet Amma but this one missed all that because he was busy running after the Pada Puja water and Sandal Paste and Kum Kum that had just been offered to Amma. incredible day
Today, meeting and being embraced by Amma was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life and I will cherish it forever! When I first arrived, I was overcome with so much emotion. Sitting in one room filled with so much love was so powerful. By the time I got up to see her, I was filled with so much happiness. Mata Rani – San Ramon Generally the second retreat night is filled with cultural performances by local devotees and volunteer staff members. Tonight there was a magician, a classical violinist, a young guitar player, and two classical Indian dancers. For the final ‘act’, spaces were cleared on both sides of the center darshan line. A group of local Indian devotees were going to put on a skit or some sort of dance.
