Amritapuri ashram
  • In Rajasthan with Amma

The night before we got to Jaipur we stopped at another place in Rajasthan called Rajsamand for the night. The place was an ashrama like place located on a beautiful hilltop with a view that was spectacular. From the rooftop of the building one could see the vast lake spread out below. Early in the morning Amma came out for a morning meditation in that very spot. One of those moments that stay with you for a long time. The Jaipur program was quite interesting in a few ways. The people in northern India have a tendency to express their…

  • Leave no one disappointed

On the road from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Amma served us all lunch as She sat under a tree in the shade. She cracked jokes, and looked back on the 3 days of darshan in Mumbai. She stretched Her arms out and gestured embracing one after the other, at high speed. ‘Amma goes as fast as She can’ She said. If She would not go at such a high speed hundreds of people would not get darshan. People who would have been waiting for hours, who had waited all year or maybe all their lives to get a glimps of Her.…

  • Smell of Motherland

flew into Mumbai late at night, the heat and smell of the city brought back memories. This was India, the land of my Mother. All winter in Europe I had been longing to be with Her again, to take part in the North India tour. To follow Her footsteps and to be litterally on the path of the Mother again. In the Nerul Ashram on the outskirts of Mumbai, Amma was giving darshan at breathtaking speed. Every few seconds She firmly took a lost soul in her arms, offering every breath and heartbeat to humanity. Seeing Her do this always…

  • The Road to Ahmedabad

The ride from Mumbai to Ahmedabad was really long and gruelling, except for two factors. One being that the highway is one of the best in India, and the other one that we had two stops with Amma, one for lunch and one for chai. For lunch Amma chose an idyllic spot in a beautiful mango grove. I found myself a perfect natural sofa on the branch of one the mango trees. It even had a backrest. It was so nice to watch Amma enjoy herself with Her children in such an unhurried environment after the hectic Mumbai darshan. She…

  • good bye Mumbai

saying good bye to mumbai, we entered into 4 lane highway to amdavad. it’s a 500 km drive. as we entered gujarat, the roads look like a royal pathway–staight, clean highway. there are lot of agriculture farms on either side of the road. gujarat is only state where there is a 3 phase power supply even in the villages… and there are no power cuts! the farmers suicide is almost nil here. economically and industrially gujarat is well ahead of other states of india. we had a luch stop and tea stop on the way. during the luch stop we…
