Sarasamma, from Alapuzha, is one among the thousands in Kerala who receives ‘Amrita Nidhi’ pension, instituted by Amma for destitute women. She is from a very poor financial background and had lost her son and husband in an accident. Her only surviving daughter is married to a poor man.
