Role model to others
Thursday, June 12th, 2008 As Amma walked into the program hall today, as usual, She stretched Her arms to touch the hands of the people who were on Her pathway. Seeing this, a small child started walking in front of Amma with stretched arms, touching the hands of people! It was very exciting to watch this. Before starting the bhajans, Amma mentioned about this and said, “Knowingly or unknowingly, we inspire others. So, all of us should become role models to others”. Here is a list of bhajans from today’s program: Sankar Sut Ho Tum (Hindi) Manas Chora Radha Krishna…

Request for prasad
This one happened was during the Amma’s evening darshan program at San Ramon Jun/10/2008. A couple of us, Ananth and I were standing near the ‘JumpGrades’ information desk , talking and seeing Amma from over there. When I noticed that the kids trying out the software demo, were munching something. I was wondering what it was. Shorly after another Ajay came over to us and gave both us some prasad from Amma. I could see Ajay had just a small piece (it was raw Green Bell pepper/capsicum) and he handed most over, to the two of us and went away.…

Non-profit accomplishment
Last week the magazine, India Today, named the medical school at Amma’s AIMS hospital as the 16th best medical school in India. It was a huge honor for this institution which is only seven years old. I took the magazine to Kinko’s to have the cover and the two page article scanned in preparation for a poster to be made so we could share the exciting news with everyone. The clerk explained that they could not scan a magazine without a signed document from the magazine editor because of copyright regulations. I was stunned knowing the impossibility of obtaining the…

What was the Saree colour
San Ramon, California on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 Devi Bhava started at 7 PM with Amma’s satsang followed by an Atma Puja. Amma started giving darshan at around 9 PM. Amma was wearing a light green saree. That was what I thought! I was not sure about the colour of the saree, so I asked several devotees. Some said it was teal, some others replied turquoise. The other responses were emerald green, aqua green and a combination of these colours. I still don’t know what the exact colour of the saree was, but it looked beautiful because Amma was wearing…

Humble Pie
8 June 2008, San Ramon, CA While doing seva in the kitchen I noticed a lot of cooked cereal was left over from breakfast so I asked if I could use it to make Humble Pie by baking it in the oven. My request to make Humble Pie was met with an unexpected offer: “Would you like to use the Solar Oven set up at the Green Friends table?” “Wow!” I thought, “this could show what can be done with a solar oven as well!” So I added ingredients to the cooked cereal and after mixing it together placed it…
