The Divine Elevator
Albuquerque – Monday, June 23rd , 2008 After the morning and evening programs, Amma stayed within the Marriott Pyramid North hotel. At the end of each program, Amma would walk out of the program hall towards the elevator and devotees would follow Her like bees after the Queen bee. Amma would then enter the elevator, which had a transparent glass wall on the side facing the lounge. The devotees in the lounge would watch Amma go up on the elevator to Her floor and Amma would look down and wave at the devotees. The glass elevator had decorative lights on…

Light that removes darkness
Sunday, June 22nd, 2008 There was a lot a crowd for the morning darshan. The program was held at the Marriott Pyramid North hotel in an indoor hall. At about 3:30 PM, the power went off in the program hall and it became pitch dark (yes, power cut happens in US too!). Someone brought a cell phone near Amma to illuminate Amma using its light. This was followed by someone else brining a laptop. Video cameras followed with their flash lights to illuminate Amma’s area. There was a silence in the hall and suddenly people started chanting ‘Om Amriteshwaryai Namaha’.…

Krishna Cobalt Blue On Screen

Not sure if it affected the other TVs – there are probably more than a dozen scattered all over the hotel – in the overflow conference rooms, in the dining hall, on the deck outside. LA is one of the biggest Devi Bhavas (outside of…

10th day San Ramon
Amma’s tenth day program in San Ramon, California Saturday, June 14th, 2008 Amma has always blessed San Ramon with two Devi Bhava programs during summer time. The second Devi Bhava was more crowded than the first one. Devi Bhava started at 7 PM with Amma’s satsang followed by an Atma Puja. Amma started giving darshan at around 9 PM. Amma was wearing a beautiful saree. It is hard to describe the saree – it had a light sandal colour as the base with patterns made of different colours and embellished with stone works. The saree looked different on the closed…
