  • Smell of Motherland

flew into Mumbai late at night, the heat and smell of the city brought back memories. This was India, the land of my Mother. All winter in Europe I had been longing to be with Her again, to take part in the North India tour. To follow Her footsteps and to be litterally on the path of the Mother again. In the Nerul Ashram on the outskirts of Mumbai, Amma was giving darshan at breathtaking speed. Every few seconds She firmly took a lost soul in her arms, offering every breath and heartbeat to humanity. Seeing Her do this always…

  • The Road to Ahmedabad

The ride from Mumbai to Ahmedabad was really long and gruelling, except for two factors. One being that the highway is one of the best in India, and the other one that we had two stops with Amma, one for lunch and one for chai. For lunch Amma chose an idyllic spot in a beautiful mango grove. I found myself a perfect natural sofa on the branch of one the mango trees. It even had a backrest. It was so nice to watch Amma enjoy herself with Her children in such an unhurried environment after the hectic Mumbai darshan. She…

  • good bye Mumbai

saying good bye to mumbai, we entered into 4 lane highway to amdavad. it’s a 500 km drive. as we entered gujarat, the roads look like a royal pathway–staight, clean highway. there are lot of agriculture farms on either side of the road. gujarat is only state where there is a 3 phase power supply even in the villages… and there are no power cuts! the farmers suicide is almost nil here. economically and industrially gujarat is well ahead of other states of india. we had a luch stop and tea stop on the way. during the luch stop we…

  • Amma moon

now it seems that it has become the tradition in brahmasthanam festivals, at the end amma sings and dances to the tune of ‘mata rani’ the hit bhajan of the year. amma did dance at the end. devotees were calling out… with joy. what a gift to the mumbaikars for the new year day. for the maharashtrians, today is new year – ugadi. there was eclipse this morning. some believe it is not good omen to have eclipse on the new year. but you have to learn to accept this and pray for the grace. may be this is another…

  • 3 days in Nerul

after the sivaji park public program we went to the ashram. ashram is on top of a hill in new bombay. you can see the city, nerul railway station, the sea… alll from the top of the ashram building. there are other two temples and a church on the same hill. it was so dusty, hot, humid… people move like ants in their cars on the road. the leaves on the trees have become brown due to the dust in the atmosphere. the city life is some thing i dont like. but life is there. people have devotion. nerul brahmasthanam…

  • 200 crores

we left pune as soon as the darshan was over. in fact amma walked to her camper right from the stage. i had to grab my camera bag and run through the crowds to the car to follow Amma. my shirt and dothi were full with butter and milk. some curd was still there on my beard – i saw it on the mirror of the car- which spilled when amma put in my mouth. we entered into the express highway. in four places it passes through the tunnels – through the mountain. main one is more than one kilometer…

  • Mumbai Program

I joined the tour in Mumbai. Amritapuri was blissfully quiet and it was almost tempting to stay in order to do some sadhana and study, but then again you can always do that, can’t you. The longing to see Amma got the better of me and I hopped on the train. First there was the usual public program in Shivaji Park, which was massive in scale and intense in many ways. I have always liked Mumbai ever since I came to India in 1995 and it is good to see that, although the city has gone through quite a lot…

  • Krishna Leela of Pune

One beautiful thing with Pune devotees is that they all clap and sing with Amma during bhajan. the bhajans in pune were sooo much energetic. pune has a rich culture and tradition. during darshan time, a twins came to receive mantra from amma. they are in their 50s. both look alike.. bold heads, big bellies, their smile, appearance.. both got mantra from amma. then both were crying. both got the mantra deeksha also at the same time from amma. amma was smiling at them for a long time. now it has become a tradition that at the end Kale Master…
