Children All Over Amma
25 Mar 2009, Bangalore That was a solemn Shani puja evening in Bangalore. Amma was giving Satsang prior to Puja instructions. The translator was translating, and Amma, having nothing to do, started throwing Her enchanting love glances at the little children in the audience. The front-ramp was tightly occupied by little children and young students of Amrita institutions. Behind them in the huge open-air auditorium, there were rows of chairs for those doing puja. Amma’s love glance first fell on the little kids right under Her nose. Amma signalled one of them to come up to Her. With him rose…

Dreamy Existence
The inseparable twins of good and evil Carved on the canvas of existence, Are mere flashes in the mirror of mind That let you know the false existence. You dream and you don’t know you are in dream, As the dreamer can never know he is in dream, The Great Master lets you know you are in dream And that awakens you from dreamy existence. The inseparable twins of beauty and ugliness Carved on the canvas of existence, Are mere flashes in the mirror of mind That let you know the false existence. Ma, you append tenderly the waters of…

Amma s Tree
A few months ago my wife and visited our favorite nature area in Danmark. We noticed state workers cutting many trees with a chain saw. The trees which were getting cut had red paint marks on them, the noise and smoke from the metal chain actions was terrible! We went away feeling worried and returned a few weeks later and experienced horror and pain, when many wonderful trees that give cherries and black berries every summer were cut down! As we surveyed the damage we noticed that there were still a number of trees yet to be cut! Anger arose…

Super Mother
God created this magnificent world and then thought by, Why not add the beauty, and so hung the stars on the sky, He went on, with the smiling mountains, dancing trees, the land and sea The lovely animals, chirping birds, blooming flowers, then you and me. He felt that this world should remain good and peaceful forever, And so came down as a blessing in disguise, in the form of Mother. He knew a Mother would hold a special place, And bring his reflection on everyone’s face, A mother will walk an extra mile, Just to see her children wear…

Thrilling experience
Having gained admission into the top masters programme for parallel and distributed computing, that too, in Tanenbaum’s university thrilled me beyond words. I was overjoyed when I heard the news. But the question that trailed along was what next? I mean the expenses for travelling, studies, housing etc have to be covered, and I was confused as to what to do. The options for scholarships were limited and the other only option left was to take a loan. I wanted to ask Amma her opinion on this matter and I along with my friend, who had gained admission to the…

Amma, Cultural Ambassador
I always wanted to write a book on Amma’s feats as a Cultural Ambassador of India. I wanted to see Her deeds like Huen Sang the Chinese traveller in India during Vijayanagar’s heyday. He describing the Vijayanagar kingdom’s prosperity gave a beautiful account of a market scene: “They sold precious stones and pearls in measures (one normally uses for measuring milk for domestic purposes) from the heaps by the wayside.” But the material in Amma’s case is much more glorious and too abundant for me to put them together in one life time … So this blog-size will do for…
