A community center for Batwadi
Batwadi is a special village. Located on the hillside above flood ravaged areas of Chandrapuri, Batwadi found room for us to build 15 “Amma Houses” scattered across their fields. The people of Batwadi have embraced Amma and everything we are doing in Uttarakhand. Most noteable is how so many villagers will turn out to help with whatever project is at hand. I came to the ashram in 1991 with my parents and sister, when I was 3 years old. I had met Amma when I was 2 in the US. We lived in Amritapuri for 7 years and I did home school. When I was 10 Amma said we should go back for my and my sister’s education. Amrita fragrance spreads over Malanad
Amma started a school there first; it was about ten years ago. Amrita Vidyalayam, Nagara is a beautiful orange pink building with one very long wing, located on the lush Kollur road, about 45 kms from Devi Mookambika. The village Byse 5kms from school has been beneficiary of several of Amrita Serve activities. Programs in Ranchi
5th November 2015, Ranchi We visited one of the premium schools in Ranchi. It was a fun filled session mixed with some interesting discussions about various facets of life. Towards the end we had a short meditation session. Surprisingly there was a pin drop silence in the hall. Some students were in tears after seeing the videos of what Amma has done and is continuously doing for the humanity. Many of them approached us and enquired about how to get a hug from Amma.
