Satsang in Devgain village of Jharkhand
Devgain is one of the adopted villages by Amma. It is situated in Jharkhand state. We visited this village in order to share Amma’s teachings and to inspire the village folk. The village people were dispersed here and there but waiting when we reached. A blind man from the village started speaking impromptu about Amma briefly, thanking Amma and Ashram and then summoned everyone to the Pavilion We found people to be extremely simple but very shy initially. However soon they opened up and we had good discussion on various aspects. There was a talk about Amma and Her spiritual…

Celebrating Amma- Milano and London
Although Amma had just finished the huge Toulon program and Devi Bhava had ended late that same morning, as soon as Amma arrived at the Milano venue, she headed for the dining room to serve food to everyone. It seemed Amma would never stop passing plates to the many sevites there preparing for the program, but Amma’s smiling face and the Baduga music made the long wait to finally eat one’s pasta a joyous time. Amma didn’t neglect to give a little satsang along with the food. Before we start eating, Amma always reminds us to think of those who…

Spiritual education is more important than my regular education
Marco Gabriel Reyes Grieves is currently visiting Amritapuri ashram for a period of 14 weeks with his parents – his father is Mexican and his mother is American. Marco is from Mexico where he lives in a small village right next to one of Mexico’s most famous archeological sites, the ancient city of Teotihuacan with its 2000 year old pyramids, temples and altars. The family decided to visit India after hearing many stories from friends who had visited the country and had had positive life changing experiences. Marco’s father had a longtime wish to stay in an ashram, and when…

Meditation at Raipur
We reached the Raipur (Capital of Chhatisgarh) on 29th october. From there to Kondagaon was a few hours of bus ride. Next morning we taught meditation to students of government school of Deurbal village, which is one of the Amma’s adopted villages. The students were very happy and quite naughty. They did not hesitate to admit that the main reason they were happy was that they did not have to attend the school, since they had to come for meditation class. But as soon as we started, we were surprised to see that they all became quiet and seriously tried…

Anything can happen- at Toulon
Around midnight during Devi Bhava in Toulon, I decided to take a tour of the venue, frankly hoping to find something interesting to write about. As I walked by the token distribution point, I saw a sign saying- Token distribution is finished. But who knows what can happen? What can happen? Only the Lord knows! I stood there pondering this and wondering how with this huge crowd someone without a token could get one. At that moment a couple arrived and said they had to leave and mistaking me for a token official, they gave me their tokens. I took…

Language of Love- Centre Amma du Plessis, France
For various reasons, not everyone went with Amma for the Finland program. Different groups were housed at her Dutch and two French ashrams. I was with the group staying at Centre Amma du Plessis, her first ashram established in France near Chartres, and an hour and a half from Paris. This is probably her most spectacular ashram architecturally, as it dates from at least the 13th century and features the remains of a moat and 3 slate roofed towers. It has been lovingly restored over the past 13 years and the work continues. It also is amazingly active with 50…

Meditating every Step
Yet again another IAM training camp in Chandigarh. The morning was little chilly but soon the bright sun came up. After the introductory talk, there was an interesting Question and Answer session. The real fun began after the tea break with Walking meditation. Walking meditation really opened up every one – there were smiles on every one’s face. People were literally “Meditating Every Step”. But more than that, as the day progressed and the things started getting deeper and deeper, everyone seemed to be in bliss. There was a good mix of the crowd – youth, seniors and middle-aged, all…
