OM Amriteswaryai Namaha
Today was another interesting and lovely day around Amma. I missed
out the question answer session with Amma due to work and landed up at
the ashram during lunch time and was lucky enough to just be there for
the last few words by Amma and then the concluding bhajan of “Hari bol
Hari bol” which Amma sang in Her usual sweet way.
Right after that got a spot near Amma’s seat, (thanked my stars).
Amma was doing Her work ( giving darshan) while I sat watching Her.
There was a western family who had lost a dear one and came for Amma’s
darshan. Amma immediately identified with their sorrow and I saw Her
shed tears along with the family. She consoled them and hugged them for
quite a while. Then darshan proceeded and another person came with a
happy news to Amma (couldn’t figure out exactly what it was) and
immediately Amma identified with that and laughed with him and shared
his joy.
Seeing this I remembered what swamiji says about Amma, that She is just
a reflection of our own feeling and She can switch between joy and
sorrow at will and She does that so we feel comfortable and get the
security that Amma is with us in our experiences.
Although Amma is above all experiences (happiness or sorrow etc) She
still comes down to our level, to let us share our happiness or sorrow
with Her and get close to Her. Times like these make us remember Her
greatness and feel the compassion She shows by coming down to our level
of mundane existence.
Namah Shivaya
