In our free time we visited the famous Bahu Fort and the temple inside the Fort, while at Jammu.

BSF Jawans from 4 Batallions attended the IAM Sessions from 19th June 2007 to 21st June 2007, at BSF Sector Headquarter in Srinagar and it was very well received.

All the officers as well as Jawans participated whole-heartedly in these sessions. They also told us that they felt very calm and composed after doing IAM. Some of them even said that they felt very soothing effect while practicing IAM.

Everytime after the IAM sessions, Jawans would come and discuss their physical as well as emotional problems with us. They would feel free to talk to us regarding whatever concerns them most. Some of them discussed their family issues and some discussed about work related things. Some had ailments and pains in the body, for which we showed them certain asanas and also suggested some Ayurvedic cures.

Even while moving outside in the camp, many a times Jawans approached us and we had long discussions with them topics like spirituality and Patriotism. We also got an invitation from Officers to visit the Holy Shrine of Amarnath, but due to lack of time, we decided not to go. However, the Officers were kind to take us to the Holy place called Shri Shankaracharya Hill.

Sri Shankaracharya Temple – Shankaracharya is supposed to have visited this place in Kashmir when He came from Kerala by foot. There is a big Shivlinga there and also a small place under the stones where He used to sit in meditation.
