Sept 8th 2008, Purnia, Bihar.

Today Br. Unni who heads the ashram fabrication works arrived from Amritapuri. As he had to be helped in the purchases of hardware for erecting temporary shelters, we split into two teams, one with the doctors for the medical camp and me and Unni along with a local person to make the necessary purchases, open an account in the main SBI Branch at Purnia, meet with the local MP to finalise the location for the temporary shelters. While we were at the MP’s house, the Minister in charge for Purnia who is also the Labour minister of Bihar, greeted us and wanted to have some consultation with our doctors, about whom he had heard a lot of good.

During the day Amma also called us several times and asked us why we were not starting the construction of the shelters immediately. We assured Amma that come what may, we would start it tomorrow.

The doctors had given consultations to 400 patients today also.

We were out in the sun the whole day, comparing prices from different shops, as the quantity of items required is in large numbers. By the time we reached our accommodation center it was quite late and we were very tired.

So I couldn’t write about our activities yesterday.
