Not only a spiritual Guru but everything
Sujatha from Prayar, Alappuzha district, Kerala shares her experience “Before meeting Amma about 8-10 years back, I was living in a hut, and led a poor life. Amma took care of me as a child of her own and gave her love and built me a sweet home and educated my children for free. I cannot express how thankful I am to Amma. As far as I am concerned Amma is not only a spiritual guru but everything to me. I visit Amma every month and never miss out any of her birthdays” – Anirudh.R., Sangeetha & Shehnaz

There’s No Place Like Amritapuri-Home!
Within hours of my first day at Amritapuri (Abode of Immortal Bliss) four years ago, an immediate, warm familiarity overtook me, a déjà vu of which I had never experienced before. My whole being felt cocooned in the love that this sacred land holds. I knew then that I had arrived home – that this was exactly where I was meant to be. That feeling is just as true for me now as it was then. It has been two years since my last sojourn to the ashram – a haven open to all and home to countless seekers. Each…

My Amma Tattoo
Since years I have been praying to Amma that I may never forget her presence in my life. Even though I know that she is always with me, the thought of Amma sometimes slips away in the midst of my hectic schedule in Austria. I have been a big fan of tattoos since long, and one day the thought crossed my mind that if I were to have a tattoo of Amma’s image on my forearm; it would help me to remember that she is always the center of my universe. The challenge was to find a tattoo artist whom…

Manju’s Story
I came to the ashram in 1991 with my parents and sister, when I was 3 years old. I had met Amma when I was 2 in the US. We lived in Amritapuri for 7 years and I did home school. When I was 10 Amma said we should go back for my and my sister’s education. During my first visit back to the ashram (2005) Amma told me to be a doctor and in my second visit people suggested I study at the AMRITA Medical School (AIMS). I went to visit it and fell in love with it. The…

Satsang in Devgain village of Jharkhand
Devgain is one of the adopted villages by Amma. It is situated in Jharkhand state. We visited this village in order to share Amma’s teachings and to inspire the village folk. The village people were dispersed here and there but waiting when we reached. A blind man from the village started speaking impromptu about Amma briefly, thanking Amma and Ashram and then summoned everyone to the Pavilion We found people to be extremely simple but very shy initially. However soon they opened up and we had good discussion on various aspects. There was a talk about Amma and Her spiritual…

Language of Love- Centre Amma du Plessis, France
For various reasons, not everyone went with Amma for the Finland program. Different groups were housed at her Dutch and two French ashrams. I was with the group staying at Centre Amma du Plessis, her first ashram established in France near Chartres, and an hour and a half from Paris. This is probably her most spectacular ashram architecturally, as it dates from at least the 13th century and features the remains of a moat and 3 slate roofed towers. It has been lovingly restored over the past 13 years and the work continues. It also is amazingly active with 50…

Women Empowerment Village Workshops
As part of Amma’s 62nd Birthday Celebration, hundreds of women (and few men) from adopted villages across India came to Amritapuri. Many are enrolled in “Women Empowerment: Sanitation Project” vocational classes in their home villages. Taking advantage of the training facilities and skilled instructors at Amritapuri, additional workshops were offered in subjects such as Block Printing on Fabric, Tile Installation, Soap Making and Packaging, and Basic Carpentry. Video presentations covered the basic details, then the women got to work with the tools themselves, gaining valuable “hands on” experience. Skilled female instructors served as powerful role models for these young ladies.…

Hearts dancing, minds overwhelming…Europe Yatra begins
Amma is here at Granollers for the first tour stop in her Europe yatra 2016. A few hours ago, several devotees had gathered at the airport and were looking for Amma ever since they knew her flight had landed. Suddenly among the crowd, a spotless white saree and a beamingly smiling face. Amma was in Europe and her tour had started. To many who had arrived, Amma gave Darshan as she walked out of arrivals. Even from within a car, Amma put her hand out to hold each and everyone and squeezed them gently like as if we were small…
