It just kept getting better and better….

and it’s taken this long just to write about it….

A few weeks ago, in Chicago, not only was a hole blown in the fabric of the universe, not only did Amma take us through it, but she kept us there for what appeared to be an eternity. It’s not just poetic license. It’s simply true….

At the end of Darshan on the first night of programs in Chicago, Amma sang two bhajans: Hari Narayana Jai Narayana Hari Narayana Govinda followed by Kotha Tumi Jonani. When the last round of Kali Ma Kali Ma Kali Ma Kali Ma Kali Ma Kali Ma Kali Ma, began the rocketship took off….

One has to struggle with words to describe what happened – just as Amma has to struggle at times during bhajans to contain her bliss from lifting her body out of the chair and carrying it through the ceiling. It just kept going. And at the end, it felt as if Amma had repeated more Kali Ma’s and Mata Rani Ki…. Jai’s than had ever been collectively done before. Over and over…louder and louder…. they kept topping each other. Like fireworks in a never-ending grand finale. Each Ki… Jai!!!! took us further and further than the previous. Looking at Amma’s face, one could see She was getting lost in the ecstasy. And then it finally ended. One last Ki…..Jai that left us in total silence. And afterwards, when Amma left the hall, most of us sat there blissfully lost in a space many of us had never been before.
