Innocent yet concentrated
Last night Amma came to bhajans with one the old residents of the ashram in Her arms. A lady that has in her old age become as innocent as a child again, and that is exactly how Amma interacts with her.
There was also a lot of children sitting on the stage. One kid was kicking me in the knee all the time and asking how many more songs to go. I think he was restless to go and play with his friends. That´s the way children are. I think sometimes our mind is like that also – so restless and unwilling to tune in to Amma´s presence, wanting to go and play about in the samsara created by itself through our desires.
I think if we can combine these qualities by making our mind innocent like a child´s yet at the same ensuring that it remains concentrated and solid, we will be well on our way to the Goal.
The bhajans were fantastic. The bliss of hearing Amma´s bhajans must be one of the highlights of my life. Devi Bhagavathi we don´t hear that often these days.
She sang:
Ambadi Kanna
Ini Oru Janmam
Devi Bhagavathi Shantipurne
Rote jag Me
Om Namah Shivaya
Pahi Pahi Devi
Ambe Galanu
Chintanai Ceytituvay
Ambe Jagadambe
Vishwanath
